Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
- Hold a current state license as a Registered Nurse.
- Have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a registered nurse.
- Have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and valid automobile insurance coverage.
- Be able to travel moderately within the service area.
- Demonstrate observation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Have an understanding of business management principles and healthcare operations.
- Have knowledge of governmental regulations, Medicare and Medicaid requirements, and CHAP standards.
- Have advanced nursing skills consistent with accepted clinical standards.
- Be able to assess and respond to diverse needs across varied care settings.
- Have organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Be able to manage emotional situations with empathy while respecting individual lifestyles.
- Demonstrate leadership abilities, including coaching, personnel management, and staff development.
- Have critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Understand hospice philosophy and palliative care principles.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a multidisciplinary team responsible for coordinated, high-quality end-of-life care for patients and families.
- Guide and develop an interdisciplinary team that includes nurses, social workers, spiritual care, and other supportive services.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, quality standards, and operational excellence.
- Partner with field staff, physicians, and organizational leadership to shape care delivery, support staff development, and drive continuous improvement in hospice services.
- Provide on-call administrative phone support for after-hours field staff as part of a rotation.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Hospice or home health experience.
- Management or supervisory experience.
