Requirements
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in Nursing with a valid Colorado Registered Nurse license.
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving record must be maintained.
  • Communication, organization, time management, and clinical skills are required.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.
  • The role requires standing, sitting, talking, hearing, using hands and fingers to operate a computer and keyboard, close vision for computer work, and light to moderate lifting.
Responsibilities
  • Review the medical eligibility of all referrals in a timely manner.
  • Work directly with the provider on the unit to ensure medication and physical health needs are met.
  • Assess client needs, develop solutions, and ensure implementation of appropriate interventions and programs.
  • Draw indicated laboratory specimens and prepare them for pickup.
  • Provide case management and other appropriate clinical interventions.
  • Observe, identify, monitor, report, and record client conditions, including signs and symptoms indicating changes in condition, to appropriate treatment team members.
  • Assist with crisis intervention and notify appropriate teams, managers, or 911 as needed.
  • Provide individual and group education to clients and families on health, medications, psychiatric illness, and physical care techniques.
  • Participate in care coordination and collaborative development and implementation of client treatment plans.
  • Complete daily shift reports accurately, including incident reports, medication refusals, risk assessments, and medical screening documentation while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Assess clients throughout their stay, complete risk assessments, and collaborate on admission, discharge, transfer, and safety decisions.
  • Oversee LPN and QMAP medication administration or monitoring according to policy.
  • Assist with staff training and review and administer prescribed medications, including injections.
  • Oversee medical supplies, including medication storage, disposal, and ordering, and conduct medication administration record audits.
  • Coordinate infectious disease tracking and reporting, keep protocols current, and monitor adherence.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year of psychiatric nursing experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish proficiency is preferred.
