  • J.D. degree from ABA accredited law school (or foreign equivalent) with membership in good standing in a US state bar.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial transactions, ideally with a focus on the technology industry.
  • Experience in an in-house legal department, ideally specializing in technology transactions.
  • Experience in intellectual property, commercial real estate/leasing or construction agreements is helpful.
  • Ability to balance legal and business risk.
  • Outstanding communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and working collaboratively with various teams in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Good sense of humor & team player.
Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic counsel and proactively lead the review and negotiation of a broad range of commercial agreements with a strong focus on marketing, licensing, SaaS, and professional services agreements.
  • Contribute to the improvement of current processes and procedures, such as by creating templates and developing legal trainings and playbooks.
  • Identify and assess legal risks associated with commercial agreements and provide actionable advice to mitigate those risks.
  • Provide timely and practical guidance on risk management, internal policy compliance and contractual obligations.
  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships cross-functionally and within the legal team, including with strategic partners such as security, privacy, procurement, and finance to ensure alignment and compliance with company objectives, contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
