About the job
- At least 2 years of surface experience.
- Must hold an MSHA Certified Electrical Card and an Illinois Electrical Certificate for high/medium voltage.
- Review and understand permissibility requirements and monthly electrical examinations and records.
- Properly splice and troubleshoot high- and medium-voltage systems.
- Service all electrical motors and equipment.
- Read electrical prints for equipment and motor control centers.
- Maintain and calibrate level controllers.
- Follow up on repairs identified through thermography testing.
- Check and maintain weekly electrical tools and maintain records.
- Maintain the carbon monoxide monitor.
- Troubleshoot and install fiber-optic cables and programmable logic controller racks.
- Test fire suppression systems in motor control centers.
- Maintain density gauges and perform calibrations.
- Troubleshoot and maintain variable-frequency drive controllers.
- Grease all appropriate components.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Experience in a wide range of maintenance, including preventive maintenance and mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting, is preferred.
