Requirements
  • Completion of high school coursework or a general education requirement certificate.
  • Some experience is preferred, up to one year.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Must perform assigned duties while adhering to safety precautions and Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations.
  • Must complete annual education requirements, including compliance, privacy, security, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act training.
  • Must comply with organizational policies, procedures, the Code of Conduct, facility handbook requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations and laws.
  • Must provide care and interactions with residents, clients, families, and staff respectfully and with dignity.
  • Must report resident or family complaints to appropriate supervisors and report allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds or resident property, and other compliance concerns.
  • Physical activity requirements include climbing, standing, stooping, pushing, pulling, and walking; lifting and carrying loads across specified weight ranges.
  • Must perform the job duties under somewhat disagreeable working conditions that may include noise, dust, heat, and oil.
Responsibilities
  • Perform assigned duties in a timely manner under the general supervision of the Director of Environmental Services/Maintenance.
  • Empty trash; dust and vacuum common areas; clean and deodorize bathrooms; replace toilet paper and paper towels; clean and polish furniture, fixtures, and window ledges; and mop floors.
  • Maintain common areas and grounds in clean, safe, and good repair, and conduct assigned preventive maintenance.
  • Clean office equipment and perform general cleanup in hallways, break rooms, conference rooms, and other social and common areas.
  • Process soiled linens by washing and drying them; fold, distribute, and deliver clean linens in a timely manner.
  • Keep washers and dryers free of lint, maintain clean and orderly laundry areas and linen closets, and monitor laundry supplies.
  • Place residents' personal laundry on carts and deliver it to each wing and, where applicable, to residents' closets.
  • Assist the Director with cleaning related to move-in and move-out schedules.
  • Respond to requests concerning safety and cleanliness.
  • Manage time efficiently, model a professional manner, promote a team approach, and participate in policy creation and problem-solving.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
