Requirements
  • A B.S., A.S., or certificate in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
  • A CRTT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Current licensure by the Division of Registration, Board of Respiratory Care, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, or an application for the same.
  • Current certification in BLS for adults, children, and infants.
  • Knowledge, experience, and competency in caring for adult rehabilitation and geriatric age groups.
Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the physician, provide and document respiratory-therapy modalities, including weaning from mechanical ventilation, care and weaning of tracheostomies, heated high-flow therapy, respiratory education, arterial blood gases, and venous blood gases.
