Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Current professional licensure or certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist, Registered Respiratory Therapist, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse is required.
  • At least six months of experience in a clinical services role is required.
  • The role requires communication proficiency, compliance, customer service or client focus, empathy, and stress management.
  • The employee must be able to sit, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • The role requires frequent handling of equipment, gauges, and meters and physical contact with patients during training or clinical follow-ups.
Responsibilities
  • Educate patients, family members, and caregivers about diagnoses, personal care, symptom recognition, equipment use and care, and related topics through phone calls, telehealth visits, and in-person interactions.
  • Complete daily patient follow-up tasks, including noninvasive ventilation follow-ups and phone calls to patients, families, or caregivers as needed.
  • Complete noninvasive ventilation setups and home visits and participate in on-call coverage as needed.
  • Support the continuum of care by creating or overseeing care plans, communicating with physicians and other clinicians, and identifying and resolving patient care issues whenever possible.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of company equipment and services and assist with quality control, equipment maintenance, and daily Clinical Outcomes Team operations as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of insurance benefits, coverage, and patient costs to explain them adequately to patients and caregivers.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, The Joint Commission, state respiratory care and pharmacy boards, and other applicable rules and regulations.
  • Maintain current professional licensure or certification and comply with continuing education requirements.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the manager.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • At least six months of experience in a healthcare, medical, insurance, durable medical equipment, or customer service role is preferred.

DASCO HME provides in-home medical equipment with a focus on respiratory and sleep care. They distribute and rent equipment like oxygen therapy devices, CPAP/BiPAP sleep therapy devices, and nebulizers to patients at home, and partner with hospitals to support discharge and home care.
