Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (Computer, Software, Electronics), or a relevant field of study is required.
  • At least 8 years of experience related to solutions architecture is required.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Manhattan Active WM implementations and functional expertise in warehouse operations and distribution, including inbound, outbound, inventory management, and other key processes.
  • Experience designing and integrating solutions in cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Understanding of networks and security as they relate to integration and data flow between systems.
  • End-to-end technical ownership of Manhattan Active implementations.
  • A strong background translating business requirements into technical solutions and managing end-to-end implementation.
  • Ability to bridge waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of Manhattan Active WM implementation.
  • Ability to build consensus around proposed solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute effectively to a team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Direct the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options, incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership.
  • Translate business requirements for merchandising systems into detailed, scalable, and secure technical architectures, including design documents, diagrams, and specifications for new systems or upgrades.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders within Merchandising to understand their needs and analyze existing processes for technology improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and execute solutions that reduce the percentage of time spent on reactive work.
  • Work with business and technology subject matter experts to derive end-to-end enterprise solutions that comply with Enterprise Architecture standards and guidelines.
  • Interact with business leadership to establish a working relationship between IT and operations.
  • Facilitate requirements refinement, with special focus on service-level requirements.
  • Collaborate with other parts of IT to ensure understanding of the proposed architecture and incorporate feedback.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure traceability from the design to the proposed solution architecture.
  • Contribute to enterprise guidelines, standards, and principles as precedents are discovered and adopted.
  • Articulate architecture decisions behind the solution architecture.
  • Work with business stakeholders to ensure immediate and future requirements are addressed by IT.
  • Develop an understanding of Academy's policies, procedures, and safety rules.
  • Participate in Solution Review Board sessions and other approval processes required by project governance.
  • Provide effective communication to cross-functional teams and project leadership promptly.
  • Lead discussions with project and business teams to understand and document business requirements and make recommendations in domain- or application-related areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Follow a flexible work schedule to support business needs.

Academy Sports shares jump 11% on Q2 beat, raises guidance to $6.70 EPS

Academy Sports and Outdoors shares surged over 11% in premarket trading Wednesday after the sporting goods retailer beat second-quarter earnings expectations and raised full-year profit guidance. Adjusted earnings per share reached $2.31, surpassing the analyst consensus of $2.08. Revenue hit $1.65 billion, up 3.0% year-over-year, matching market expectations. Comparable sales declined 0.4%, reflecting pressure on consumer spending among lower-income households. However, e-commerce revenue grew 12.8% during the quarter. The company raised its fiscal 2026 adjusted earnings guidance to between $6.50 and $6.90 per share, up from the previous range of $6.40 to $6.80. Full-year net sales guidance remained unchanged at $6.23 billion to $6.36 billion. Chief executive Steve Lawrence said the company is reinvesting tariff-related benefits into value whilst expanding new brands and accelerating omnichannel initiatives.

E-commerce sales increased 12.8%, whilst new stores posted mid-single-digit comparable growth. The retailer's diluted GAAP earnings per share rose 17.3% to $2.17, with adjusted EPS up 19.1% to $2.31. A net tariff refund contributed $0.06 to EPS, including reinvestments. The company opened three new stores during the quarter across Pennsylvania and Tennessee, bringing its total store count to 327. It plans to open 11 stores in the third quarter. Academy affirmed its sales guidance for fiscal 2026 whilst raising EPS expectations. The board declared a quarterly dividend of $0.15 per share, payable 14 October 2026.

Academy Sports + Outdoors has appointed Matthew M. Pasch as Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer. Academy Sports to launch 200 Ariat shops across stores this fall

Academy Sports + Outdoors will launch 200 Ariat in-store shops this fall across its locations. The Texas-based retailer announced the new retail spaces will showcase an expanded selection of Ariat apparel, accessories, and footwear, tailored to each store location. Matt McCabe, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer at Academy, said the companies built a "highly visual" space featuring branded walls, fixtures, and tables. Sharon Carpenter, vice president of sales for Ariat International, noted Academy has been a retail partner for 20 years. The announcement follows Academy's recent store expansion plans.
