About the job

Responsibilities
  • Increase the approval rate with each issuer with which a business relationship is established, and report results to the Acquiring, Acceptance and Issuer Relations Directorate, other Openpay directorates, and BBVA committees.
  • Ensure that CC ratios and fraud claims received by issuers remain within targets, regardless of whether claims remain with the issuer or Openpay.
  • Establish follow-up processes among issuers, Openpay, and strategic merchants when risk situations arise, including processes for refunding risky transactions.
  • Identify causes of approval-rate deterioration related to operational issues at affiliated merchants or internal Openpay issues, report them to technical teams, and follow up on solutions.
  • Share best practices for transaction flows with the business-facing teams to reduce declines caused by incorrect processing.
  • Translate between issuers’ terminology and Openpay’s terminology to improve the operation of the e-commerce transaction ecosystem.
  • Expand the portfolio of issuer banks of interest to Openpay to optimize approval-rate indicators, CC ratios, and claims; maintain ongoing dialogue to align strategies supporting both companies’ KPIs.
  • Define approval-rate management strategies with issuers, including green affiliation schemes and arrangements for special sales such as Hot Sale, as well as specific sales events such as nighttime sales, concerts, or seasonal events.
  • Analyze low-approval-rate cases reported by Acceptance or Commercial teams, as well as cases identified internally by the Issuer Relations team; respond to those cases and negotiate with issuers for more flexible antifraud strategies.
  • Supervise that assigned personnel are aware of and comply with security guidelines while performing their duties.
