Arcadis and Egis selected to design the Port of Montréal's Contrecœur Container Terminal.

Arcadis and Egis selected to design the Port of Montréal's Contrecœur Container Terminal. Oct 30, 2026, 09:00 ET The nation-building project will expand the annual capacity through one of the nation's busiest east-coast gateways by 60 per cent MONTRÉAL, Oct. 30, 2026 /CNW/ - Joint venture partners Arcadis (EURONEXT: ARCAD) and Egis have been appointed by DP World as the Operator's Engineer for the development of the Contrecœur Container Terminal Project at the Port of Montréal. The landmark infrastructure project is set to transform Canada's eastern trade gateway and expand the Port of Montréal's annual capacity by 60 per cent. Through the joint venture, the team will design and engineer the terminal infrastructure required for the new facility to operate, which includes all buildings, the container yard, rail yard, utilities, and truck gates. "The Contrecœur Container Terminal is an exciting project, marking a major investment in Canada's trade infrastructure and an important step in expanding capacity at one of the country's key trade gateways," said Kevin Karaloff, Business Unit Leader, Ports and Marine, Arcadis. "This project will help strengthen supply chains, improve connectivity, and support long-term economic growth well beyond the Port of Montréal. We're proud to continue our relationship with DP World in Canada, bringing together our global port and marine experience with local engineering expertise to help deliver this landmark project." "The Contrecœur Container Terminal sits at the intersection of two strategic priorities for Egis: serving our key international clients and supporting the development of critical infrastructure in Canada's fastest-growing markets." said Jean Steenhouwer, Chief Commercial Officer, Egis in Americas. "Working alongside DP World, the Port of Montréal and our partners, we are proud to contribute to a landmark project that will reshape Canada's eastern trade gateway, strengthen national supply chains and deliver long-term value for the Canadian economy." Arcadis will lead the environmental assessment, geotechnical engineering, electrical engineering, rail infrastructure, and design of the container terminal's primary operational and administrative buildings. Egis will lead the design and engineering of the terminal's utility buildings, civil utilities, crane rails, pavements, and truck gate infrastructure. Moffatt & Nichol, acting as a subconsultant to the joint venture, will provide terminal planning and operational specifications services to determine the terminal's layout and optimize terminal operations. According to the Government of Canada, this flagship, nation-building project will support approximately 4,000 jobs annually during construction and generate an estimated $750 million in annual economic benefits once operational, strengthening supply chain resilience across Canada. In alignment with the Major Projects Office designation of the project as a project of national interest, the federal government has committed $1.16 billion in funding through the Canada Infrastructure Bank. The announcement expands on work Egis and Arcadis are already completing for the Montréal Port Authority and DP World. Both organizations bring experience fulfilling leadership roles in the planning, design, and engineering of marine and landside port infrastructure locally and globally through current and completed projects such as the Port of Calais in France, Contrecoeur Terminal Expansion Marine Works, and the Westport Program in Australia. The award of the land-based work follows the start of marine infrastructure construction, which is being managed by the Montréal Port Authority and began in April 2026. The Contrecœur Container Terminal is slated for completion in 2030. DEPT partners with Arcadis on AI-powered website.

DEPT partners with Arcadis on AI-powered website. The platform aims to help clients find relevant information and expertise more efficiently while giving Arcadis greater insight into audience behaviour and opportunities for growth. DEPT, The Growth Invention Company, has partnered with global design and consultancy firm Arcadis to transform its website into an intelligent digital platform designed to improve information discovery, generate demand and attract talent. The partnership reflects a shift towards treating the website as an evolving digital product rather than a static online destination. DEPT and Arcadis develop an AI-powered platform. The platform combines AI-powered search, enhanced audience insights and a content operating model designed to help Arcadis understand what clients are looking for, how they interact with its content and where new opportunities emerge. Robyn Gillrie, Global Market Development Director, Arcadis: "From the outset, the ambition was to create more than a website. We wanted to apply imagination to a challenge many businesses face: making it easier for clients to quickly find the information and expertise they need, exactly when they need it. The new platform provides clients with a digital experience that enables them to learn quicker and move faster, turning digital engagement into stronger growth opportunities. Our new website now connects the audiences we serve to the depth and breadth of Arcadis expertise and support." Arcadis uses data to improve digital performance. Since launch, the platform has generated qualified leads and delivered measurable improvements in performance and discoverability, according to the companies. The results highlight the role of data-driven digital experiences in connecting audiences with relevant services and expertise. The project also introduced governance models, workflows and content operations that enable teams across Arcadis' global organisation to manage and develop the platform over time. These processes are intended to support continuous improvement and help the website evolve alongside the business. DEPT focuses on digital transformation and growth. Carryn Quibell, Americas CEO, DEPT: "Too many enterprise websites function as digital brochures. Together with Arcadis, we set out to build a platform that doesn't just describe the business. It actively supports its growth. By combining AI, data, and a product mindset, Arcadis now has a digital experience that can evolve as quickly as the business itself." The partnership adds to DEPT's work with global organisations seeking to modernise customer experiences, improve the value of their digital ecosystems and accelerate growth through technology.
