Requirements

  • Minimum five years of industrial maintenance experience and three years in a lead, supervisory, or management role.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to tolerate controlled indoor temperatures of –20 degrees Fahrenheit and outdoor temperatures in heat, cold, and precipitation.
  • Ability to work at heights exceeding 35 feet and access elevated platforms and catwalks.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, push, pull, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Required close, distance, color, and depth vision; contact lenses are prohibited when working with ammonia.
Responsibilities
  • Manage daily maintenance activities in a warehouse.
  • Plan, coordinate, and perform refrigeration and maintenance activities, and direct or oversee those of the Refrigeration Technician.
  • Install, maintain, and repair machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems for the refrigerated warehouse, directly or through assigned staff.
  • Identify current and future maintenance requirements.
  • Prepare the annual maintenance budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Determine work priorities and schedule repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to support operational productivity.
  • Design, implement, and modify preventive maintenance programs by reviewing production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics and inspecting operating machines, equipment, and systems for operational conformance.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and mechanical, electrical, municipal, and state codes.
  • Resolve maintenance problems.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment for employees and visitors.
  • Schedule and assign employees and ensure work results.
  • Ensure repairs of handling equipment so it is clean, safe, fully operational, and in good repair.
  • Assess future equipment repair needs and coordinate repairs.
  • Direct department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.
  • Provide an energy plan covering energy consumption, rate goals, strategies, action plans, conservation plans, and utilization effectiveness.
  • Maintain knowledge of new technologies that may improve operations and develop recommendations.
  • Maintain knowledge of safety policies and regulations so duties are performed safely.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Technical degree preferred; technical training or equivalent years of experience is acceptable instead of formal education.
