Academy Sports + Outdoors advances omnichannel growth strategy with launch of Academy Retail Media.

Academy Sports + Outdoors advances omnichannel growth strategy with launch of Academy Retail Media. Jul 30, 2026, 09:05 ET New retail media network connects brands with Academy's high-value customers and delivers measurable performance across online and in-store sales KATY, Texas, July 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Academy Sports + Outdoors ("Academy") (Nasdaq: ASO), a leading full-line sporting goods and outdoor recreation retailer, today launched Academy Retail Media (ARM) as the next evolution of its omnichannel growth and customer strategy. ARM brings together Academy's expanding physical and digital reach, differentiated customer relationships, and longstanding brand partnerships to create more relevant customer experiences and measurable growth opportunities for advertisers. The launch comes as Academy continues to expand its store footprint, boost e-commerce, and enhance customer personalization capabilities. With more than 320 stores across 21 states and a growing base of 52 million verified customers, ARM gives brand partners a new way to translate Academy's customer relationships and geographic reach into purchase-based audience intelligence, omnichannel activation and closed-loop measurement. "ARM is a natural extension of how Academy is growing our business and deepening relationships with customers and brand partners," said Chad Fox, Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer. "Our stores, digital platforms, and customer insights give us a distinct view of how active families and sports and outdoor enthusiasts shop. By bringing those strengths together, we can help brands engage customers more meaningfully, demonstrate the business impact of their investment, and create a better, more personalized Academy experience." ARM enables brands to reach verified Academy customers across onsite, in-app, and offsite channels and connect media exposure to online and in-store sales. Advertisers receive transparent, closed-loop measurement of same-SKU sales, broader brand halo and incremental lift, helping them optimize campaigns against outcomes such as return on advertising spend, customer acquisition, new product launches, reactivation and sales growth. For Academy customers, ARM will support more relevant product discovery, brand experiences, and offers throughout the shopping journey. Academy's audiences include Always Game Families - active households with children in sports that purchase across eight or more categories and spend approximately twice as much annually as the average sporting goods and outdoor consumer - along with sporting families and outdoor enthusiasts. Several leading national brands are already activating ARM campaigns across awareness, consideration, and conversion, demonstrating early momentum as the network launches. Academy Sports + Outdoors partners with French Toast and BEAR to support 1,000 Houston-area students during back-to-school season. Jul 29, 2026, 11:05 ET Company hosted personalized shopping experience to set students up for success KATY, Texas, July 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - As families prepare for the school year and fall sports season, Academy Sports + Outdoors ("Academy" or the "Company") (Nasdaq: ASO) teamed up with leading school wear brand French Toast to provide 1,000 students from Houston-area non-profit organization BEAR, or BE A Resource, with school essentials to boost confidence and encourage excellence at school and in play. On Tuesday, July 28, hundreds of Academy team members were joined by nearly 500 local elementary and middle school students from BEAR at corporate headquarters in Katy, TX, where the retailer hosted a back-to-school shopping event. Together, the children and employee volunteers picked out uniforms based on their district colors and dress code, socks, and their favorite sport ball. This event is part of Academy's broader community giving efforts and is supported by an in-kind donation of more than $50,000 worth of products for BEAR's Back to School Program. "At Academy Sports + Outdoors, we understand back-to-school can bring added stress and financial pressure for families with school-aged children, and we try to ease that burden by offering market-leading everyday value pricing, standout promotions, and investment in the communities we serve," said Meredith Klein, Vice President of Communications at Academy Sports + Outdoors. "We're proud to partner with French Toast and BEAR to impact our hometown community in a meaningful way to provide students with the resources they need to feel supported, be successful, and have fun this school year." French Toast is committed to helping remove barriers so all kids from all walks of life can feel comfortable and confident focusing on their education and pursuing their passions beyond the classroom. "Our mission is to help all kids shine," said Stephen Ashear, Division President of French Toast. "We recognize confidence starts with being prepared, so it is our hope that providing local youth with great schoolwear inspires and empowers their learning all year long." This donation marks Academy's second annual back-to-school volunteer event. The company partnered with Operation Homefront in 2025 to fill 1,500 backpacks with essential school supplies for school-age military children across Texas and Louisiana. This year's partnership with BEAR reinforces the company's commitment to making a positive impact in the communities it serves. "Every child deserves to feel secure and comfortable," said Tammy Hetmaniak, Executive Director of BEAR. "Through efforts during the back-to-school season, and with the help of generous partners like Academy Sports + Outdoors, we are able to provide school supplies and essential resources to more than 17,000 children who have experienced abuse, neglect or crisis each year across the Greater Houston area." UBER jumps 6% on Uber Eats retail-expansion headline.

UBER jumps 6% on Uber Eats retail-expansion headline. Five new U.S. retail partners gave a washed-out stock a clean "Eats TAM expansion" narrative, but with no order-volume or margin data, the move reads more sentiment than evidence. JUN 25, 2026 UBER was up because investors treated the day as a "Uber Eats is becoming a broader local-commerce network" update, helped by some retail-flow / sentiment accelerants. Price check: UBER closed $73.85 on Jun. 24, up 6.00% from $69.67. Volume was 34.8mm shares, about 1.6x its prior ~20-day average. This was idiosyncratic: SPY -0.05%, QQQ -0.42%. Peers also got a smaller bid: LYFT +4.2%, DASH +3.7%. Main catalyst: Uber announced that Uber Eats added five new U.S. retail partners: Kiehl's, FedEx Office, Blick Art Materials, Academy Sports + Outdoors, and Choice Pet. The market read this as evidence that Uber Eats is moving beyond restaurants and grocery into higher-frequency, multi-category local retail. The announcement said these categories would be available through Uber Eats, Uber, and Postmates apps, adding beauty, office / packing supplies, sporting goods, art materials, and pet products. Secondary coverage also noted existing retail partners such as Sephora, Home Depot, and Best Buy, and that Uber has added thousands of U.S. retail locations in 2026. Secondary catalyst: A Pelosi disclosure hit the tape the same day. It showed a new UBER call-option purchase: 200 call options, $50 strike, Mar. 19, 2027 expiry, disclosed value $500k-$1mm, transaction date May 29, filing signed Jun. 23. This is not fundamental, but it can absolutely add retail / momentum fuel. Other color: Several news summaries also referenced positive analyst framing: Tigress Buy, $115 target and Citizens Market Outperform, $100 target. The Tigress move appears to have been from earlier in June, not a fresh Jun. 24 catalyst, so I would not over-credit it. Unlock the full article.
