Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or report development
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service (report authoring, publishing, workspace management, app distribution)
  • Strong proficiency in DAX (calculated measures, time intelligence, complex aggregations) and Power Query / M (data transformations, query folding, parameterized queries)
  • Experience designing and optimizing semantic models (relationships, star schemas, Import vs. DirectQuery mode selection)
  • Demonstrated UI/UX design skills — ability to create intuitive, accessible, visually polished dashboards
  • Experience implementing row-level security (RLS) and environment-based deployment governance (Dev/Test/Prod)
  • Strong SQL proficiency for data validation, troubleshooting, and ad hoc analysis
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively in a distributed, global team
  • This position requires candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
  • Shift Timing: 01:00Noon -10:00PM IST
Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Dashboard Development: Own the full lifecycle of Power BI report and dashboard development — requirements gathering, wireframe/mockup creation, data model alignment, DAX measure authoring, Power Query transformations, visual design, user acceptance testing, and production deployment.
  • Financial & Operational Reporting: Build and maintain dashboards that support key insurance business functions including policy administration, claims analysis, premium reporting, loss ratios, dealer solutions metrics, pricing analytics, and operational KPIs.
  • Semantic Model & Certified Data Source Alignment: Work closely with data modelers and the ETL team to consume governed, business-friendly semantic views published from Snowflake. Ensure Power BI semantic models (formerly datasets) are properly aligned with certified definitions — consistent field naming, correct relationships, and optimized for DirectQuery or Import mode depending on the use case.
  • UI/UX Design & Visualization Best Practices: Apply a user-centered design mindset to produce accessible, consistent, and visually compelling dashboards that drive adoption. Follow established CFIS design standards for layout, color schemes, navigation (drill-through, drill-down, bookmarks, tabs), and accessibility. Create reusable templates and visual patterns that raise the quality bar across the entire report portfolio.
  • Row-Level Security & Governance: Implement and maintain row-level security (RLS) to enforce data access policies across reports. Support deployment governance practices including environment management (Dev → Pre-Prod → Prod), version control, change advisory board (CAB) review processes, and release notes documentation.
  • Performance Tuning & Optimization: Monitor and optimize report performance — identifying slow-loading visuals, inefficient DAX, bloated models, or excessive data volume — and implement best practices such as aggregations, query folding, incremental refresh, and model size reduction.
  • Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Work closely with onshore team leads, data modelers, ETL developers, business analysts, and project managers to align report deliverables with business priorities. Participate in CAB reviews, weekly release notes, maintain user guides, and support business user onboarding to Power BI.
Desired Qualifications
  • Power BI Paginated Report Builder for our standard accounting and financial reporting
  • Experience connecting Power BI to Snowflake (SSO, DirectQuery, Import)
  • Familiarity with Snowflake semantic views or governed data layers as a consumption source
  • Experience with Streamlit or other lightweight data application frameworks
  • Exposure to self-service analytics platforms or natural language query tools (e.g., Polaris AI / Snowflake Intelligence)
  • Insurance, financial services, or regulated industry domain experience
  • Experience with Power BI REST APIs, deployment pipelines, or CI/CD for BI assets
  • Power BI certifications (PL-300 or equivalent)
  • Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Application Design, Architecture: Knowledge of application design and architecture principles and practices; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools, and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
  • Implementation: Knowledge of how to run applications for organizations; ability to implement application software within an organization and help end-users perform specific tasks (ex: accounting or graphic design).
  • Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
  • System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
  • System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.

Caterpillar stock doubles in a year on AI data centre power demand

Caterpillar has surged roughly 100% over the past year, making it one of the best performers in the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The dividend stock's gains have been driven largely by surging demand for power generation equipment needed to support AI data centres. In the fourth quarter of 2025, Caterpillar's power generation sales jumped 44%, fueled by demand for generators and turbines supporting AI infrastructure. The company secured one of its largest single power contracts to supply generators for a data centre project in West Virginia. Power and energy sales have become Caterpillar's largest revenue contributor. Caterpillar is investing $725 million to expand production capacity and plans to more than double turbine engine capacity by 2030. In June 2025, the company raised its quarterly dividend by 7% to $1.51 per share.
