  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in an office and public-school environment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Plans and provides appropriate classroom learning experiences for students.
  • Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of individuals.
  • Supervises students in a variety of school-related settings.
  • Monitors and evaluates student outcomes.
  • Communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff, and the community.
  • Develops, selects, and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
  • Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices.
  • Monitors the appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Utilizes traditional and alternative assessment strategies aligned with the Wake County Public School System curriculum and standards to support the continuous development of learners.
  • Ensures effective communication techniques are used with students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Engages in planned continuous professional quality improvement for self, the school, and the school district.
  • Uses techniques and strategies that promote and enhance students' critical and creative thinking capabilities.
  • Implements classroom instructional strategies and materials that reflect each student's culture, learning styles, special needs, and socioeconomic background.
  • Establishes and maintains a classroom management system that supports appropriate regulation and creates a positive learning environment.
  • Supports the intellectual, personal, and social development of all students.
  • Plans, aligns, implements, and evaluates effective instruction and assessment in a variety of learning environments.
  • Collaborates with peers, parents, community members, and other stakeholders to continuously improve students' classroom educational experiences.
  • Integrates appropriate technology into teaching and learning processes.
  • Ensures adherence to good safety procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
