What believers are saying

  • Berlin Packaging added BlueSky on June 11, 2026, strengthening UK market share.
  • O.Berk joined on June 10, 2026, expanding North American beverage and pharma reach.
  • HQ relocation to Merchandise Mart in 2025 signals growth, visibility, and recruitment momentum.

What critics are saying

  • Constant acquisitions create integration risk; BlueSky, O.Berk, Cosmei, and Jurcal need rapid systems alignment.
  • Packaging customers can switch suppliers quickly, pressuring margins when resins, glass, and freight fluctuate.
  • If 2026 integrations slip, Berlin's 2027 cross-sell story collapses and PE exit valuations compress.

What makes Berlin Packaging unique

  • Berlin Packaging bundles containers, design, logistics, warehousing, and sourcing through Studio One Eleven.
  • June 2026 BlueSky and O.Berk acquisitions extend one platform across EMEA and North America.
  • Cosmei and Jurcal deepen packaging expertise in beauty, pharma, and beverage markets.

Berlin Packaging named one of America's Greenest Companies 2027 by Newsweek. Oct 14, 2026, 10:00 ET Recognition marks Berlin Packaging's second appearance on Newsweek's list of America's Greenest Companies. CHICAGO, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Berlin Packaging, the world's largest Hybrid Packaging Supplier(R), is honored to announce that it has been named one of America's Greenest Companies 2027 by Newsweek, Plant-A Insights Group, and GIST Impact. The recognition marks Berlin Packaging's second appearance on the list, following its recognition in 2025. America's Greenest Companies 2027 recognizes 650 U.S. companies for their environmental sustainability performance. Of the 6,000 companies initially reviewed, more than 1,700 met the ranking's eligibility criteria. Companies were evaluated across more than 25 parameters in four categories: greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, waste generation, and commitment and disclosure. "This recognition reflects the progress we're making as we continue to embed sustainability across our business," said Bill Hayes, Global CEO and President of Berlin Packaging. "Brand owners are no longer asking whether packaging should be more sustainable; they are asking how to move faster, make better decisions, manage new requirements, and demonstrate progress with confidence. We have an opportunity to lead by example while helping our customers turn those ambitions into action." Berlin Packaging continues to advance its sustainability strategy by reducing the environmental impact of its operations and helping customers navigate an increasingly complex sustainable packaging landscape. Through its global packaging expertise, Sustainability Services, and Studio One Eleven(R) design and innovation engine, Berlin Packaging works with brands to evaluate materials, improve packaging efficiency, incorporate recycled content, support circularity, and identify solutions aligned with their sustainability goals. In September, Berlin Packaging released its 2025 Sustainability Report: Built for Tomorrow, highlighting progress including: * Achieved Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validation for near- and long-term greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets. * Procured 5,581 MWh of renewable energy credits across the Americas and EMEA, including enough renewable electricity to cover 100% of the Company's electricity use in its Americas business. * Supplied 14,810 metric tons of post-consumer recycled material, a 14% increase from 2024. "Sustainability drives Berlin Packaging's growth, not simply how we report on progress. It influences where we invest, how we build capabilities, and how we create value for customers navigating evolving regulations, retailer expectations, and consumer demand," said Balaji Jayaseelan, Vice President of Sustainability at Berlin Packaging. The America's Greenest Companies methodology evaluates companies relative to their respective industries, with greenhouse gas emissions representing 50% of the overall score, followed by water usage and waste generation at 20% each, and commitment and disclosure at 10%. The evaluation considers factors including emissions intensity and reductions, renewable energy use, water and waste intensity and reductions, participation in the Science Based Targets initiative, and sustainability disclosure.
