Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of related engineering experience.
  • A proven track record developing mechanical systems.
  • Effective organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
  • Independent judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Three-dimensional modeling experience, with SolidWorks preferred.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience demonstrating comparable knowledge may be considered.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
Responsibilities
  • Research, design, develop, and test electromechanical systems for robotic applications.
  • Apply the engineering design process from conceptualization through prototype development and validation.
  • Perform modeling, analysis, and simulation of electromechanical systems.
  • Develop computer-aided design models and drawings of electromechanical assemblies and systems.
  • Perform light fabrication, subsystem assembly, and subsystem integration.
  • Formulate and perform electromechanical system tests.
  • Document analyses, designs, and builds in test reports.
  • Travel to support field experiments and off-site test programs.
  • Interact with and present to customers, and work with technology subcontractors and vendors.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with finite element analysis using ANSYS and/or SolidWorks Simulation.
  • Experience manufacturing with modern methods, including CNC mills and lathes, laser cutters, and 3D printers.
  • Experience specifying and selecting electrical components, including motors and sensors, for robotic systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuit design.
  • Experience programming for prototype development using Python, Arduino, or similar tools.
