About the job
- At least one year of work experience in a medical front desk or receptionist capacity.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is required.
- Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette.
- Ability to use computers to enter information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to connect with patients and make them feel comfortable.
- Patience and presence of mind.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods while working on a computer, and potentially stand, walk, and bend for prolonged periods.
- Ability to move or lift up to 20 pounds at times.
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients and other patrons arriving at the medical centers.
- Deliver patient service.
- Answer telephone calls promptly and direct calls appropriately.
- Retrieve phone messages and transfer calls as necessary.
- Verify patient insurance.
- Retrieve correspondence from all mailboxes and distribute it appropriately.
- Prioritize the centers’ business needs and assist other areas as needed.
- Schedule appointments, check patients in and out, and obtain accurate patient information.
- Greet patients and visitors courteously and professionally.
- Notify appropriate personnel of visitor arrivals and direct visitors to the correct area.
- Perform clerical functions.
- Maintain and update the directory of all employees in the center.
- Notify the transportation dispatcher when patients are ready for pick-up.
- Maintain professional conduct and appearance.
- Keep waiting and reception areas clean and tidy.
- Commute to other centers as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
