Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Monitor data gaps and trends, work with functional and field teams to address anomalies, manage data collection, and develop training for field teams and consultants.
  • Work with field and finance teams to provide month-end statistics and create and distribute performance-trending data and insights.
  • Assist operations and engineering teams in identifying and assessing landfill leachate wastewater treatment project opportunities and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate with field teams, corporate teams, and third-party environmental consultants to manage environmental due diligence for potential acquisition assets.
  • Provide guidance on identified liabilities, remedial options, and estimated completion timelines.
  • Communicate regularly with acquisition-team stakeholders regarding investigation and resolution status.
  • Oversee the landfill gas program, ensure daily flow-data uploads to the gas database, and develop gas dashboards for key performance indicator visibility.
  • Assist operations and engineering teams in identifying and assessing landfill gas projects and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate with field teams to provide guidance on landfill-cell and site construction projects, including capacity calculations, scheduling and timelines, and resource and material coordination.
  • Maintain financial responsibility for construction and wastewater treatment plant development, closure and post-closure, engineering, operations, and cost tracking.
  • Assist with financial tracking of acquisition-related environmental diligence expenditures.
  • Drive onboarding and ongoing skills-development training for field-based staff.
  • Develop and communicate standards, policies, procedures, best management practices, directives, and strategies related to wastewater treatment facilities and gas-system management.
  • Monitor emerging environmental regulatory requirements and participate in developing the company’s response to new or changing regulations on a regional and national basis.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to support field operations teams as required.
  • Perform other assigned or apparent responsibilities and projects.

New Solid Waste Services Agreement with Republic Services takes effect today. Tuesday, September 01, 2026 The City of Toledo's new Solid Waste Services Agreement with Republic Services (Allied Waste Services of North America, LLC) is in effect as of today, September 1, 2026. The five-year agreement continues residential trash, recycling, and bulk waste collection services for Toledo residents and establishes stronger performance standards to hold the company accountable for the level of service residents expect and deserve. There is no change to collection schedules, cart service, recycling guidelines, or bulk waste pickup. Residents should continue to set out trash, recycling, and up to 5 compliant bulk items on their regular collection day, following the same guidelines they have always used. New accountability measures. The new agreement establishes clear, measurable service standards - with financial credits owed back when Republic Services falls short. Highlights include: * A 99.5% monthly service completion rate. If Republic Services misses this threshold, the company owes the City credits that increase with the extent of the shortfall - up to $10,000 for performance below 98%. * Container delivery timelines. New or replacement trash and recycling carts must be delivered within 3 business days of the request, or the company will incur a daily penalty for each day it's late. * Spill cleanup within 8 hours. Any scattered or spilled waste or recycling material must be cleaned up within eight hours of notice. * 24-hour complaint response. Service complaints must receive a response within 24 business hours. * Monthly performance reporting. Republic Services must deliver monthly and annual data reports to the City by the fifth business day of the following month, with penalties for late reporting. * Fast call center response. The company's average answer time for customer service calls must remain under 3 minutes, with penalties for slower response times. * Proactive communication on service delays. "We're excited to bring curbside recycling back to Coconut Creek, and in true Coconut Creek fashion, we're having some fun with it," Coconut Creek Mayor Jeffrey Wasserman says. "We're kicking things off with a handful of community events that bring our residents together while showcasing the creativity and our innovative spirit that make our city so special" The fleet serving Coconut Creek includes six McNeilus Volterra electric refuse and recycling collection vehicles. The trucks include 360-degree camera systems, enhanced driver visibility, lane-departure sensors, automated emergency braking and audible alerts designed to improve awareness for pedestrians and nearby motorists.
