- Must maintain proficiency in all forensic laboratory service areas for which the employee is deemed competent.
Responsibilities
- Conduct physical, microscopic, and chemical analyses on evidence submitted to the Richland County Sheriff's Department Forensic Sciences Laboratory.
- Provide written reports based on the examiner's interpretation of results.
- Provide expert testimony in federal, state, and local courts.
- Assist with other criminal evidence analysis and law enforcement work.
- Develop work methods and sequences within a general outline of work under general supervision.
- Perform related law enforcement work as required.
