Requirements
  • Three A-levels at BBB or equivalent.
  • GCSE Mathematics at grade 6.
  • GCSE English Language at grade 4.
  • Must meet the Government's apprentice funding requirements applicable to the candidate.
  • Must have a three-year residence history, subject to applicable exceptions.
  • Must have the legal right to work for the full duration of the programme without gaps or dependency on future visa applications.
  • Must not have prior study, education, training, qualifications, apprenticeship, prior-work learning or prior funding that makes the candidate ineligible for apprentice funding.
  • Must demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm for the apprenticeship programme.
Responsibilities
  • Execute small research projects and research supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare presentations and reports communicating research findings.
  • Collaborate with senior management to implement research findings for retail banking.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
  • Participate in training and development programmes.
  • Identify opportunities and develop business cases for new retail-banking products and services.
  • Manage the deployment and launch of new products and services for retail banking.
  • Manage client relationships and provide customer-service support to clients and customers.
  • Respond to questions about products and services, process transactions, and resolve customer complaints with decreasing supervision.
  • Manage the development and implementation of financial models and strategies supporting retail-banking decisions.
  • Train and mentor junior colleagues.
  • Meet stakeholder and customer needs through operational excellence and customer service.
  • Perform prescribed activities in accordance with processes and procedures.
  • Identify and escalate policy breaches as required.
  • Take responsibility for customer-service and operational-execution tasks.
  • Manage risk and strengthen controls for owned or contributed work.
  • Deliver work in line with relevant rules, regulations and codes of conduct.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and customers to identify and address their needs, handling sensitive issues as required.

Barclays appoints Wee Yee-Yeong to head private bank in Singapore and Asia

Barclays has appointed Wee Yee-Yeong as head of private bank for Singapore and Asia, effective later this year. He will oversee private banking operations in Singapore and lead regional strategy for international Asian clients. Yee-Yeong joins from Morgan Stanley, where he serves as chief executive and head of sales for Singapore wealth management. He brings over 20 years of wealth management experience, having held senior positions at Bank of Singapore, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, UBS Wealth Management, and Merrill Lynch. He will replace Alexander Harrison, who served as interim head. The appointment follows Barclays' launch of its Singapore booking centre earlier this month, marking a key step in the bank's Asia Pacific growth strategy.

Form Energy closes $270M credit facility to scale iron-air battery production

Form Energy has closed a $270 million credit facility to support its energy storage technology development. The facility comprises a revolving credit facility and a tax credit advance facility linked to Section 45X Advanced Manufacturing Production Credit. An accordion feature allows the facility to expand to $1 billion. Barclays served as sole structuring bank, with Citi, Jefferies, JPMorgan Chase, RBC Capital Markets, Societe Generale, Stifel, and Wells Fargo participating in the lending syndicate. The financing follows Form Energy's $750 million Series G funding round in August, bringing total equity raised to over $2 billion. Proceeds will fund manufacturing scale-up and working capital as the company produces iron-air battery systems at its Weirton, West Virginia facility.
