The project leverages existing autonomous infrastructure at Rio Tinto's iron ore sites and aligns with both companies' expansion plans, including Sandvik's recent copper mine equipment orders and Rio Tinto's $1.5 billion Quebec smelter expansion, due to complete by end-2026.
