Onsemi beats Q2 estimates, AI data center demand drives revenue guidance to $1.7B

onsemi reported second-quarter revenue of $1.60 billion, beating analyst estimates of $1.59 billion, with adjusted earnings per share of $0.74 versus expectations of $0.72. The company's performance was driven by surging demand in its AI data centre segment. CEO Hassane El-Khoury said AI data centres remain the company's fastest-growing market, with wins amongst key hyperscalers. The company guided third-quarter revenue to $1.7 billion at the midpoint, above analyst estimates of $1.67 billion. Operating margin improved to 16.1%, up from 13.2% in the same quarter last year. Management noted that prioritisation of AI data centre shipments was necessary due to manufacturing constraints, though they expect normalisation as production catches up. The company is applying pricing increases across all markets to offset input cost pressures.
