Requirements
  • Five years of professional nursing management experience in an inpatient, hospital-based psychiatric setting.
  • An active North Carolina registered nurse license or eligibility for endorsement.
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • The ability to adjust to a fast-paced environment, solve problems effectively, and communicate proficiently in oral and written forms.
Responsibilities
  • Direct the development and implementation of quality and utilization standards across the continuum of care.
  • Ensure coordinated treatment plans, patient-focused service delivery, and cost-effective utilization of necessary services.
  • Build trust with nursing staff through communication, a supportive environment, and leading by example.
  • Provide seamless transitions for patients across the continuum of care.
  • Establish partnerships with Cone Health leadership groups and collaborate with medical staff and facility leadership to ensure a safe environment and a high-quality care experience.
  • Ensure policies, practices, and procedures comply with administrative, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate and interpret policies and procedures to nursing staff and monitor staff practices and implementation.
  • Maintain regulatory readiness.
  • Evaluate the work performance of all nursing personnel.
  • Ensure compassionate, quality care and nursing supervision through adequate services, staff coverage, and unit cleanliness.
  • Review units daily to monitor responses to significant changes in condition, transfers, discharges, unexplained injuries, falls, behavioral episodes, medication errors, and environmental issues.
  • Conduct rounds to observe care and interview staff, patients, families, and other interested parties.
  • Collaborate with physicians, consultants, community agencies, and institutions to improve service quality and resolve identified problems.
  • Use research data to implement clinical changes and improve patient care delivery.
  • Oversee nursing schedules to meet patient needs and regulatory and budgetary standards.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of nursing personnel.
Desired Qualifications
  • Adolescent management experience is highly desired.
  • A master's degree in Nursing is preferred.
