Requirements
  • A valid Occupational Safety and Health Administration-recognized crane operator certification, such as National Center for Construction Education and Research or National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators certification.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • The ability to perform heavy physical activity involving strenuous productive or technical work.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items and work with the fingers, and the ability to perceive attributes of objects and materials.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of the required drug screen and, for field positions, medical examination.
Responsibilities
  • Operate a lattice boom type crane to hoist and move materials, raise and lower heavy weights, and perform related operations.
  • Start engines and use throttles, switches, levers, and pedals to operate machines.
  • Take action to avoid hazards and obstructions, including utility lines, other equipment, workers, and falling objects.
  • Oil, grease, or otherwise service the machine as needed.
  • Report unsafe activities to the supervisor or Human Resources.
  • Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing knowledge and skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work outdoors in changing weather conditions and regularly operate in environments involving extreme temperatures, wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, and loud noise.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience operating a telescoping boom crane.
  • A High School Diploma or GED.
