Zoom has bought Onyx, an open-source enterprise AI search platform that runs on customers' own servers, with implications for CX.
Zoom Communications stock has fallen 17.4% over the past month despite beating quarterly guidance. The company's fiscal Q2 2027 revenue exceeded expectations, with management raising full-year outlook. However, two concerns emerged. Management now expects its Online business to remain flat in fiscal 2027, down from projections of slight growth, as customers shift from search to AI for product discovery. Costs also increased due to higher AI usage with new products. Growth is coming from Enterprise, which expanded at its fastest rate in three years, driven by Phone, Contact Center, and AI products. Revenue over the trailing twelve months grew 5.0%. During market shocks since 2019, Zoom has fallen an average of 20% peak to trough, compared to 17% for the S&P 500. Its worst performance was during the 2022 inflation shock, when it dropped 61%.
Zoom Communications unveiled its vision for an AI-powered revenue OS, a unified platform connecting buyer intelligence, customer conversations, and revenue execution. The company announced new Zoom Revenue Accelerator capabilities, including Engage and Forecast, alongside the availability of Common Room by Zoom. Engage builds multichannel sales sequences across email and phone, whilst Forecast transforms deal-level signals into live forecasts. The new ZRA Elite offering combines ZRA Premium with these new capabilities. Zoom customer Barracuda Networks reported a 15% increase in deals closed and 5% faster deal velocity using Zoom Revenue Accelerator. IDC recognised Zoom as a Leader in its 2026 MarketScape for unified revenue orchestration. The platform aims to help go-to-market teams move from customer signal to action within one system, leveraging context from customer conversations to drive revenue growth.
Zoom has appointed Jeff Epstein to its board of directors, effective immediately. Epstein previously served as executive vice president and CFO of Oracle and currently works as an operating partner at Bessemer Venture Partners. The company also announced that Jonathan Chadwick will retire from Zoom's board after nearly ten years of service, effective 19 November 2026. Epstein currently serves on the boards of Autodesk, AvePoint, and Twilio. He previously held board positions at Okta, Couchbase, Poshmark, and Shutterstock. Zoom CEO Eric Yuan said Epstein's financial and strategic leadership, particularly in B2B software and vertical AI, makes him a strong addition to the board. Yuan thanked Chadwick for his guidance during major growth periods.
Zoom Communications' stake in AI company Anthropic has reached $3.13 billion in value, adding significant weight to its investment portfolio. The company recorded an unrealized gain of $1.61 billion during the second quarter of fiscal year 2026 and added roughly $301 million to its Anthropic position over six months through July. Zoom has also invested $140.2 million in equity securities of other private companies developing AI products. The San Jose-based communications platform provider, with a market capitalisation of nearly $29.4 billion, is positioning itself as an AI-first work platform. The company's enterprise business now grows faster than overall revenue, whilst AI products play an increasingly larger role across its platform. Zoom's shares have climbed 21.8% over the past 52 weeks and gained 14.1% year-to-date.
