10/03/2026The Athletic Trainer will provide limited medical treatment such as initial injury assessment, evaluation, treatment, and disposition of student athletes in the training room and on the field. The athletic trainer will act as communication liaison between the student-athlete, parent, coach, Athletic Director, physical therapist, and physician.

• Reports consistently for work as scheduled

• Performs other duties as assigned

• Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards

• Administers first aid and assistance to injured student athletes for the purpose of providing appropriate immediate care, as required

• Assists coaches and officials during selected athletic practices or events for the purpose of responding to equipment and/or initial medical needs of student athletes

• Attends meetings required by the Athletic Director

• Consults, with written parent permission, with physicians and other medical personnel for the purpose of carrying out the course of athletic training services for injured students

• Coordinates the ordering of athletic training equipment and supplies, and maintains an inventory for the purpose of ensuring that items are readily available as needed and are within established budget objectives

• Develops a variety of programs in cooperation with coaches and the Athletic Director (e.g. conditioning, injury prevention, etc.) for the purpose of preventing injury to students

• Documents all injury evaluations and daily treatments utilizing proper forms

• Educates coaches, parents/guardians, and players in the procedures of reporting injuries and obtaining a physician’s release

• Maintains a clean training room

• Maintains student athlete health records (e.g. physical exam records, emergency release, medical history, etc.) for the purpose of communicating and/or documenting information in accordance with established policies, regulations, and procedures

• Orients student athletes, parents, and coaches regarding potential health risks of athletic participation for the purpose of implementing preventive strategies

• Responds to emergency situations (e.g. injuries, disturbances, etc.) for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns

• Routinely attends practices and contests at sport specific indoor and outdoor venues

• Typical demands require staff to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, and may be higher for some assignments depending on position and student need; climb stairs, ladders, and/or stools; reach, hold, grasp and turn objects; use fingers to operate computer keyboards; feel the shape, size and temperature of objects.

• This position is very active and may require moving from one venue to another in short amounts of time depending on the needs of student athletes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's (Baccalaureate) degree (e.g., B.A., A.B., B.S.)

• CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Health Care Providers - American Red Cross

• Athletic Trainer Certification - National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification

Compensation Range:

$46,580-$56,580
