Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • At least 2 years of CMM programming experience.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment using PC-DMIS programming skills with an articulating Romer ARM and direct computer-controlled coordinate measuring machines.
  • Ability to work the second shift Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to perform the required physical activities, including lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying.
  • Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls and work around distracting sounds and noise levels.
  • Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment requiring personal protective equipment such as a bunny suit, hair net, and beard net.
  • Must meet applicable U.S. export-control work-authorization requirements or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations.
Responsibilities
  • Perform precision inspection using coordinate measuring machines or surface plates to verify mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials for workmanship and conformance to specifications and drawings, including first article, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing requirements as applied to engineering drawings and drawing notes.
  • Identify interpretation issues involving dimensions and evaluation requirements.
  • Select and use standard gauges with the required accuracy to inspect feature tolerances.
  • Create, maintain, verify, retain, sort, and organize inspection programs so they are readily available and saved to the current revision in coordination with Quality Assurance supervision.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to continuously improve precision-inspection processes and specifications.
  • Assist engineering with developing part inspection plans.
  • Identify engineering and design geometric dimensioning and tolerancing issues and errors that create ambiguity in manufacturing and inspection.
  • Suggest drawing changes to improve manufacturability.
  • Assist engineering and management with researching and procuring tools, including gauges and coordinate measuring machines.
  • Create and administer training to help others meet job expectations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience programming multi-sensing coordinate measuring machines, including vision, laser, and touch-probe systems.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc or Siemens computer numerical control systems for on-machine probing.
  • Ability to assist with designing and developing quality gauges to improve efficiency.
  • Understanding of and adherence to ISO 9001.
  • Ability to read and understand drawing criteria, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, notes, and tolerances.
  • Experience setting up coordinate measuring machines or Romer Arms.
  • Ability to determine when and which tool is required to complete the work.

Google launches AI chips on SpaceX rocket to test orbital data centers as Musk predicts space will host 100% of compute
