Requirements
  • Must possess, at minimum, a 10th-grade education.
  • Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with state laws.
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Must be able to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Must be able to solve practical problems involving concrete variables where limited standardization exists.
  • Must be able to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, and schedule-based instructions.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds and assist with resident evacuation during emergencies when necessary.
Responsibilities
  • Provide assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with their assessments, care plans, training, and supervisor direction.
  • Identify residents before administering treatments, serving meals, or providing other services.
  • Use authorized facility abbreviations and record information accurately and descriptively on flow sheets, notes, and charts.
  • Report changes in residents’ conditions, accidents, incidents, complaints, grievances, injuries of unknown source, abuse allegations, property misappropriation, treatment refusals, and missing residents to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Protect resident confidentiality and protected health information, and report suspected unauthorized disclosures or information-system access attempts.
  • Prepare rooms and welcome, orient, transport, transfer, and discharge residents and their personal belongings.
  • Maintain a warm, calm, and supportive environment throughout the unit and shift.
  • Participate in nursing reports and scheduled meetings to identify problem areas and improve services.
  • Follow policies and procedures for blood and body-fluid exposure, infectious materials, hazardous chemicals, accidents, and incidents.
  • Make beds, add covers, and maintain resident rooms and personal belongings as instructed.
  • Measure and record residents’ temperatures, pulses, respirations, weights, and measurements.
  • Check residents who cannot call for help, answer call systems promptly, and routinely assess personal-care needs.
  • Assist residents with food arrangements, record food and fluid intake, report eating-habit changes, maintain fresh water pitchers, and provide after-meal care.
  • Assist residents with dental and mouth care, bathing, grooming, dressing, undressing, and changing wet or soiled clothing and linens.
  • Prepare residents for medical tests, physical examinations, therapy, laboratory work, radiology, and dental procedures.
  • Lift, turn, move, position, and transport residents using beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, and lifts.
  • Perform restorative, rehabilitative, and special treatment procedures as instructed.
  • Observe residents for pressure areas, skin breakdown, disorientation, or coma; record and report observations.
  • Use only trained-for equipment and report defective equipment to the Nurse Supervisor or Charge Nurse.
  • Cooperate with nursing, interdepartmental, and facility personnel to maintain adequate resident services.
  • Follow work assignments and schedules, notify the facility of lateness or absence, and complete assigned tasks as directed.

PACS Group acquires Alaska care facility, plans 150-bed skilled nursing centre by 2028

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. He previously held CFO roles at Capital Senior Living Corporation, managing 128 communities across 23 states, and Belo Corp. He succeeds Mark Hancock, PACS's co-founder and executive vice chairman, who will retire by 30 June 2026 whilst remaining on the board as vice chairman. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Under his leadership, the company expanded to 323 facilities across 17 states, serving over 31,700 patients daily and generating $5.29 billion in revenue in 2025, representing 29.3% year-on-year growth. PACS Group, a leading post-acute healthcare platform, has appointed Dr Patrick Conway to its board of directors. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion. From 2011 to 2017, Dr Conway served as deputy administrator for innovation and quality at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, where he also held roles as director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation and chief medical officer.
