About the job
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field is required.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- The employee must be able to communicate information clearly with management, employees, tenants, and external contacts.
- The employee must be able to read and interpret documents, plans, and schematic drawings and comprehend instructions.
- The employee must be able to work independently.
- The employee must be able to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
- The employee must be able to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must be able to climb, smell, stoop, kneel, bend, balance, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
- The employee must have the specified close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision abilities and the ability to adjust focus.
- Assist the Operations Manager or Manager on Duty with implementing safety plans, operating standards and guidelines, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance needed to maintain the property's physical assets.
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various building systems.
- Operate equipment to perform preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and property-cleanliness activities.
- Perform interior and exterior maintenance and minor repairs, including painting, drywall, parking lots, sidewalks, plumbing repairs, clearing drain stoppages, lighting, flooring, and roofing.
- Assist with maintaining inventory systems, records, files, material safety data sheets, supplies, equipment, and tools.
- Repair, modify, and move retail merchandising units as needed.
- Assist with event setup and the installation and takedown of mall décor.
- Perform interior and exterior custodial duties, including sweeping, vacuuming, steam cleaning, gathering trash, emptying trash receptacles, operating a compactor, and landscaping.
- Assist with snow removal by vehicle or by hand, if applicable.
- Perform the job in accordance with applicable standards, policies, regulatory guidelines, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards.
- Engage in training and continuing education to develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to work safely.
- Assist with emergency planning and response in coordination with the management team.
- Work some shifts, evenings, weekends, and emergency-response periods as required.
- Provide assistance to and interact with the public and tenants as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A two-year technical school graduate or trade certificate is preferred.
- OSHA General Industry 10-Hour course is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, or the ability to learn it, is preferred.
- Bilingual ability is welcomed.
