Requirements
  • Five consecutive years of employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five years.
  • Ability to use a computer to communicate via email.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe.
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant accounting-proficiency degree with a concentration in Accounting.
  • Experience using Deltek Time and Expense and Costpoint.
  • Experience handling and maintaining confidential information.
  • Previous use of a computerized accounting system.
  • Availability for a scheduled 40-hour work week using a four-day, 10-hour schedule from Monday through Thursday.
  • United States citizenship.
  • Eligibility for Facility Access Authorization, also referred to as Employment Authorization, by the United States Government's designated Security Office.
  • Ability to submit to and qualify for varying levels of background investigation, up to a Top Secret or Department of Energy Q clearance.
  • Ability to complete a Financial Disclosure Statement if required.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Accounting department.
  • Perform Labor Distribution and Leave functions and processing.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy.
  • Review and adjust accruing liabilities such as salary and paid time off.
  • Respond to data and audit requests through analysis and reporting of data.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with representatives throughout the organization.
  • Extract, upload, and integrate data from multiple systems.
  • Prepare month-end and quarter-end journal entries and other reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial and non-financial data under general supervision and provide insight on current trends, fluctuations, and variances.
  • Invoice, bill, and provide a variety of reports.
  • Enter and post cash receipts.
  • Assist the Disbursement group in meeting segregation-of-duties requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel occasionally for meetings, events, site visits, or training when authorized.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data-analytic tools, and Visio.
  • Ability to quickly learn other business tools and technologies.
