Expert-level skills in procurement software and tools, such as enterprise resource planning systems, supplier management platforms, and data analytics tools, are required, including specific experience with Oracle ERP software.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel, Teams, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is required.
Ability to travel as required is required.

Responsibilities

Oversee value stream procurement execution to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing.
Manage Buyers and procurement transaction processes, including purchase order generation and closing, supplier purchase order acceptance rates, reschedules and changes, expediting production materials, and resolving critical part shortages with suppliers and escalations to strategic sourcing under the escalation standard operating procedure.
Work with material production management to identify root causes and resolve material shortages.
Own day-to-day supplier part execution management and ensure on-time delivery targets are met.
Identify top material shortage opportunities and work with the material execution team to improve planning and with suppliers to improve delivery.
Lead monthly part supply scorecards tracking metrics such as short ordering, quality, responsiveness, and costs.
Train and mentor Buyers, monitor performance, and implement process-reference training with tips and checklists for proficiency tracking and Buyer development.
Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team and foster collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement.
Manage team recruitment, training, and performance evaluations, ensuring team members have the necessary skills and knowledge.
Provide thought leadership and direction to the procurement team and keep current with tools and technologies to continuously improve value stream procurement.
Understand and comply with applicable company policies and rules.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required.
Communicate effectively and respectfully with others.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position in the United States is $ $128,084 - $169,711.30. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Join our Team as a Manager – Procurement!

The Manager - Procurement is responsible for overseeing the purchasing of value stream parts to support business operations. The Manager collaborates with internal stakeholders to optimize part procurement processes to mitigate risks, and drive cost savings while maintaining quality and delivery standards. Additionally, they lead and develop a procurement team, implement best practices, and leverage data-driven insights to enhance purchasing decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Function Leadership: Oversee value stream procurement execution, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing. Manages Buyers, procurement transactions processes including purchase order generation and closing, supplier purchase order acceptance rates, reschedules/changes, expediting for production materials, critical part shortage problem solving with suppliers and escalations to strategic sourcing per escalation standard operating procedure. Work collaboratively with material production management to root cause and problem solve material shortages.
Supplier Part Supply Performance: Own day-to-day supplier part execution management, ensuring on-time delivery targets are met. Identify top material shortage opportunities and work with material execution team to improve planning and suppliers to achieve delivery. Lead monthly part supply scorecards to track key metrics such as short ordering, quality, responsiveness, and costs.
Buyer Skill Development: Train and Mentor Buyers; regularly monitor performance and implement training for process reference with detailed tips and associated checklist for proficiency tracking and buyer growth.
Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team. Foster a culture of collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement within the team. Manage recruitment, training, and performance evaluations of team members, ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. Provide thought leadership and direction to the procurement team, staying abreast of the latest tools and technologies to improve Value Stream procurement function continuously.
Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.

What you’ll need to succeed

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, a related field, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of demonstrated experience working in purchasing or a related role in the manufacturing industry.
Possess a deep subject matter expertise in procurement processes, including requisitioning, purchasing, and supplier management.
Knowledge of supply chain management principles, including inventory management, demand forecasting, and logistics.
Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, compliance standards, and ethical sourcing practices.
Good negotiation skills with the ability to understand business priorities and pursue beneficial outcomes in discussions with suppliers.
