NIQ expands Shopper Experience Platform to improve product discovery in ai-powered shopping.

NIQ expands Shopper Experience Platform to improve product discovery in ai-powered shopping. New optimization capabilities and NIQ's CONTENT Framework help brands strengthen product visibility, relevance and performance across retail and AI-powered shopping channels. NielsenIQ announced new optimization capabilities for its Shopper Experience Platform, supported by its CONTENT Framework, a seven-pillar approach to evaluating and improving product content. Together, they enable brands to evaluate product content and imagery against retailer requirements and category expectations, identify gaps, and prioritize improvements that strengthen product discovery across retailer sites, search engines, and AI-powered shopping channels. A product can be accurate, complete, and retailer-compliant yet still be difficult for shoppers to find, understand, or choose. This challenge is growing as AI assistants, retailer algorithms, and recommendation engines play a larger role in shopping. According to NIQ's Consumer Outlook: Guide to 2027, 55% of global consumers report having been influenced by AI tools or assistants when making household and grocery purchases, while 65% report being influenced by products recommended or ranked on retailer and shopping platforms. As a result, brands need content that is not only accurate and compliant but structured to help shoppers and the technologies influencing their decisions discover, evaluate, and differentiate products. The CONTENT Framework gives brands and retailers a shared way to identify content gaps and prioritize improvements across seven pillars: * Complete * Optimized * Normalized * Trusted * Enriched * Nurtured * Traceable "Brands work hard to get their product content right. The challenge is making sure it helps people find and choose their products, especially as more shoppers turn to AI for advice," said Marsha McGraw, Global Head, Partnerships & Verticals, NIQ. "Our customers want to know where to focus and what will make a difference. We're helping them spot gaps in their content and prioritize improvements that make it easier for shoppers to understand what a product offers and whether it meets their needs." New capabilities within the Shopper Experience Platform help brands apply the CONTENT Framework across their product portfolios. The platform evaluates product information and digital assets, including imagery, against retailer requirements and category expectations. It then identifies missing, inconsistent, or insufficient content, helping teams prioritize improvements that can strengthen product discovery, shopper understanding, and digital shelf performance. For example, when a shopper asks an AI assistant to identify a high-protein, minimally processed snack, clearly and consistently described ingredients, nutritional information and other important attributes help the assistant evaluate which products match the request. The Shopper Experience Platform can help brands identify when that information is missing or insufficiently represented, giving teams a clearer view of where content requires attention. As part of The Full View(TM), the Shopper Experience Platform connects product content creation, optimization, and syndication with measurement. This gives customers a clearer path from identifying content gaps to prioritizing improvements and measuring impact, helping them understand not only whether product information is complete, but how effectively it supports discovery and shopper engagement.

Audible will launch in new countries in 2027.

Audible will launch in new countries in 2027. Audible will launch localized listener experiences in five new countries next year - Indonesia, South Korea, Denmark, Norway and Finland. Published on 09 October 2026 Audible has announced it will launch localized listener experiences in five new countries next year - Indonesia, South Korea, Denmark, Norway and Finland - adding to the 11 new countries announced earlier this year at London Book Fair. Customers in these countries will be able to pay in their local currency and receive recommendations specifically tailored to their region. Audible Chief Content Officer Rachel Ghiazza said they released a study in conjunction with NielsenIQ titled The Future of Listening. Of the 18,000 listeners surveyed across 11 countries, 34 percent reported consuming more spoken-word audio in the last 12 months than in the year before. The impulse seems rooted in a wish to spend time more beneficially: more than half intentionally replace screen-time entertainment with audio, and 47 percent attribute a reduction in their social media usage to listening. Parents share the sentiment, citing "screen-free entertainment" as the number one reason they encourage kids to listen; 52 percent of parents who are listeners say their children listen, too. And nearly every country ranked relaxing at home as their top listening occasion. Ghiazza says, "What's particularly striking about this research is the scale and momentum of audio's growth. Audio is continuing to play a growing, evolving role in people's lives. We're seeing audiences listen more, explore different ways to experience stories, and increasingly turn to audio as a means of switching off and recharging. In today's world, consumers are craving more fulfilling ways to spend their time, and they're finding that more and more through audio content, particularly as an alternative to screens." As global audiences increasingly consume audio content, the audio format continues to enhance the overall publishing sector: 63 percent of participants reported that after listening to an audiobook by an author, they went on to purchase their works in print or eBook formats. Consumers enjoy interacting with a title in various formats, with 61 percent of audio listeners having also read the book after experiencing it in audio, and 69 percent engaging with audiobooks of titles they had already read in another format. Additionally, audio serves as a pathway for exploration: since diving into audiobooks, listeners have indicated they are discovering new authors (29 percent) and genres (29 percent), and reading more eBooks (26 percent) and physical books (22 percent). This aligns with what Good e-Reader Inc. understand about Audible's multi-format users: they engage with almost double the amount of content each month compared to those who only listen to audiobooks. Features such as Read & Listen facilitate this type of engagement by integrating a user's audiobook and eBook into a unified experience: users can read while they listen, alternate between reading and listening without losing their place, and obtain a companion audiobook at a reduced price. Ghiazza announced at the fair that Audible's Read & Listen features will soon be introduced to seven new markets: Canada, France, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Japan, and India. Initially, titles will be accessible in English and German, with local language versions set to roll out in 2027.
