Requirements
  • A license as an LCPC, LSW, LCSW, or Ph.D./Psy.D. psychologist; psychologists, counselors, and social workers must be licensed in Illinois.
  • Psychologists must have completed an American Psychological Association-accredited internship in clinical child or pediatric psychology.
  • Three years of post-graduate experience with the population of children served by the program is required; child welfare experience is highly desirable.
  • Illinois clinical licensure and a valid driver's license are required.
  • Maintain automobile insurance.
  • Excellent verbal and written abilities, computer skills, communication, and teamwork are required.
Responsibilities
  • Administer Integrated Assessment screening and interviews to children ages 0–18 who are Department of Children and Family Services youth, caregivers, foster parents, parents, and other adults in the child's life.
  • Administer all required assessment tools based on each client's appropriate age and role, submit cases to the Department of Children and Family Services according to federal and contract mandates, and make referrals based on tool results and clinical observation.
  • Write Integrated Assessment template reports summarizing historical information and integrating interview, medical, juvenile court, Department of Children and Family Services investigative, child welfare agency, and other relevant data.
  • Participate in weekly reflective supervision with the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Maintain communication with the Permanency Worker, supervisor, and family members throughout the interview, screening, and report-writing process.
  • Provide clinical consultation to staff regarding Integrated Assessment reports, client functioning, and further assessment or service needs.
  • Attend and participate in Integrated Assessment case consultations by presenting cases and providing feedback to others.
  • Prepare for and participate in monthly training discussions.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities.
  • Participate in research activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
