About the Job

Requirements

  • A DEC in geomatics, cartography, surveying, geodesy, or equivalent training is required.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Desktop, including ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcMap from ESRI, is required.
  • Experience in web cartography using ArcGIS Online and Enterprise is required.
  • Knowledge of Hydro-Québec geomatics standards is required.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD is required.
  • Relevant experience producing cartographic products is required.
  • The candidate must speak and write in French and English.
  • The candidate should demonstrate autonomy, initiative, and attention to delivering validated, high-quality products.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in collecting and organizing client data in the field and in the office.
  • Integrate and structure geospatial data manually or automatically using tools such as FME.
  • Perform geoprocessing and spatial analyses according to project needs.
  • Create or update geographic information systems.
  • Participate in compiling and validating data collected by field teams, then process it to produce maps and reports.
  • Produce cartographic products, figures, and plans for environmental studies and projects.
  • Collaborate on designing and publishing map layers as web services for interactive maps using AGOL and Portal.
  • Create maps and web portals using ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online products.
  • Use drawing, cartography, and GIS software suited to the required deliverables.
  • Attend project meetings to understand requested deliverables.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Civil 3D, Illustrator, Global Mapper, QGIS/PostGIS, or FME is an asset.
  • Experience in engineering consulting and knowledge of MTMD standards are assets.
  • English/French bilingualism is an asset.
