What believers are saying

  • September 2026 Boulder lease more than doubles capacity and signals customer demand.
  • Callisto Complete Kit and ESHG 2026 launches broaden partnerships with Volta Labs and diagnostics developers.
  • Workforce growth above 35% in 12 months shows hiring momentum before 2027 startup.

What critics are saying

  • biomodal's November 2025 Colorado lawsuit threatens TAPS+ sales, injunctions, and licensing costs.
  • Boulder capacity stays offline until second-half 2027, delaying revenue while lease expense starts now.
  • Any TAPS+ injunction would cripple a flagship product and expose Watchmaker's platform credibility.

Watchmaker unveils Cas9-based library normalisation kit and high-accuracy amplification mix at ESHG 2026

Watchmaker Genomics will unveil two technologies at the European Society of Human Genetics 2026 conference addressing sequencing workflow challenges. The EquiPlex Normalization Kit uses a Cas9-based approach to simplify library normalization by capturing fixed molecules from each library, eliminating concentration quality control and dilution steps. The technology is compatible with RNA-seq, DNA-seq and methylation sequencing workflows. The company will also debut Equinox Prime Library Amplification Master Mix, designed to reduce polymerase slippage in homopolymer and repetitive genomic regions. The solution improves variant calling accuracy for applications like microsatellite instability profiling whilst delivering low error rates, high yields and uniform GC coverage. Both technologies reflect Watchmaker's focus on solving sequencing workflow bottlenecks and improving data quality at scale.
