Requirements
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Zero to two years of experience is required; one year is preferred.
  • The rehabilitation aide must perform patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed therapy professional and follow departmental policies, procedures, and applicable state practice guidelines.
  • The rehabilitation aide must demonstrate basic computer skills, including scheduling, transporter lists, billing, and setting up new patient or administrative surveys.
  • The rehabilitation aide must communicate impressions and objective information clearly and timely to therapists, supervisors, and others as directed.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients and the environment for treatments and assist therapists in performing treatments under therapist supervision in group or individual settings.
  • Work in acute care, acute rehabilitation, skilled facility, and outpatient settings as appropriate.
  • Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson's values.
  • Transport patients to the treatment area so they arrive on time for therapy appointments.
  • Keep equipment and treatment areas clean, properly stored, and ready for use according to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform clerical duties as directed by staff and supervisors to support the smooth daily operations of the department.
  • Supervise exercise programs, lead group exercises, document attendance and fees paid, and demonstrate knowledge of participant safety needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
