Requirements
  • 8–10+ years of experience in strategy, communications, media, or related fields.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or another closely related field.
  • Deep background in corporate communications, public affairs, or political communications, ideally at an advisory firm with exposure to high-profile brands or organizations.
  • Experience managing high-stakes communications issues or crises.
  • Experience advising senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives, government officials, or public figures.
  • A strong track record of identifying business or communications challenges and building strategies that solve them.
  • Experience developing integrated communications strategies across earned, owned, and digital channels, including emerging media ecosystems.
  • Experience in the creator economy, or a strong understanding of how content spreads, how platforms behave, and why it matters for reputation and narrative.
  • Ability to connect business objectives, audience insight, and cultural context into coherent and actionable strategies.
  • Understanding of media relations and press dynamics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, ambiguous environments using sound judgment and prioritizing important work.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with creatives, analysts, and external partners.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the strategic voice in client discussions by translating cultural, media, and digital signals into actionable direction.
  • Diagnose clients' growth, positioning, trust, or relevance challenges and map a path forward.
  • Design communications strategies leveraging earned media, owned channels, creators, and emerging digital ecosystems, including amplification channels, clipping networks, fan pages, and meme networks.
  • Develop end-to-end strategies spanning narrative, communications, and distribution ecosystems aligned to clients' business and reputational goals.
  • Drive proactive narrative work by building frameworks, positioning, and messaging infrastructure that positions clients ahead of the conversation.
  • Identify cultural inflection points and reputational risks or opportunities and advise clients on how to lead conversations.
  • Determine how owned, earned, creator, original content or intellectual property, amplification network, and community-driven channels can drive narrative, credibility, and reach.
  • Stay attuned to digital culture, emerging platforms, and the evolving media ecosystem.
  • Guide the development of integrated, channel-specific campaigns and content ecosystems aligned with strategic and business objectives.
  • Translate insights into messaging frameworks, creative direction, and briefs.
  • Use social listening reports, audience insights, and performance signals with the measurement team to refine strategy.
  • Develop amplification plans with the distribution team that align with narrative strategy and reach the appropriate audiences.
  • Partner with internal teams, media, external stakeholders, and creators to execute strategies across formats and channels.
  • Identify reputational risks across media, political, and digital ecosystems before they escalate and build anticipatory strategies.
  • Support clients during crises, reputational challenges, policy moments, and major announcements.
  • Anticipate reputational risks and shape proactive and responsive strategies across channels.
  • Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders, including senior executives, communications leaders, and policy stakeholders.
  • Oversee development of presentations, strategic memos, and campaign frameworks with client services leads.
  • Ensure work is delivered to a high standard, on time, and within scope and budget.
  • Contribute to new business efforts, including pitch strategy, positioning, and proposal development.
  • Shape Palette's point of view on communications, influence, and narrative strategy through internal knowledge-sharing and external thought leadership.
