About the job

Requirements
  • Senior engineering leadership experience running and growing multi-team organizations, ideally across more than one location.
  • Deep experience with transactional platforms, ERP-style systems, or comparable systems of record, ideally including regulated financial flows such as payments, lending, or KYC, and re-platforming or carve-outs in a live environment.
  • A hands-on track record shipping artificial intelligence or machine learning in production, with a practical understanding of where agentic artificial intelligence creates leverage today.
  • A demonstrated artificial-intelligence-first, lean mindset, including applying artificial intelligence within an engineering organization to raise output without growing headcount.
  • Strong architectural judgment, with security and data protection built into decisions, and enough technical depth to stay close to the code.
  • The judgment to move quickly on reversible decisions while maintaining a high correctness bar on irreversible, money-touching paths.
  • A commercial mindset that anchors engineering decisions in unit economics, working capital, and speed for buyers and suppliers.
Responsibilities
  • Own the Engineering organization and turn the platform and artificial intelligence vision into shipped systems, partnering with product, commercial, operations, and finance.
  • Build the artificial intelligence agents into one holistic, orchestrating layer across sourcing, pricing, quoting, sales, logistics, and financing.
  • Drive automation of the full transaction lifecycle and own automation-rate and no-touch-quote targets as delivery key performance indicators.
  • Work with the data team on systems that make trade flows a compounding advantage, so every transaction makes the system smarter.
  • Keep the company at the practical frontier of agentic artificial intelligence by shipping useful leverage and avoiding demo-only technology.
  • Put guardrails, evaluations, and human-in-the-loop controls in place so automation remains reliable in money-touching and customer-facing workflows.
  • Own execution of the target architecture for the platform and its system of record for industrial trade.
  • Lead the carve-out of the transaction core into a modern, modular light enterprise resource planning system, with a clear migration path and no disruption to daily trading.
  • Shape the role of Salesforce in the technology landscape, deciding what remains on the platform, what moves to the new core, and how the systems work together.
  • Make pragmatic build-versus-buy decisions within the platform strategy and reduce technology cost per transaction.
  • Make new-market launches a repeatable platform capability, with support for multiple geographies, currencies, languages, and compliance regimes built in.
  • Keep the platform ready for technical due diligence by maintaining architecture, data, and security.
  • Lead the Engineering organization, including onsite Berlin talent and a nearshoring team, and directly and actively manage the nearshoring team.
  • Build a lean, high-leverage team and raise output through artificial intelligence across the engineering workflow.
  • Hire and develop senior engineering leaders, including one or two Staff Engineers who report to the role and own architecture across teams, and raise the talent bar with every hire.
  • Build an engineering culture centered on ownership, speed, and craftsmanship, using small teams and low bureaucracy.
  • Stay hands-on by reviewing designs with Staff Engineers, pairing on difficult problems, unblocking teams, and keeping decisions close to the code.
  • Enable business teams to build and automate safely with artificial intelligence by setting paved paths, standards, and review practices that protect quality, security, and underlying systems.
  • Partner with the Chief Product Officer on data integrity by building systems that maintain a single source of truth with clear access and quality controls.
  • Establish and communicate one operating model for speed and safety so every team understands how to move quickly within clear boundaries.
  • Act as a technical sparring partner to the Chief Product Officer on architecture, roadmap feasibility, and sequencing.
  • Translate the product roadmap into shipped software and turn needs from commercial and operations teams into delivery.
  • Support the Chief Product Officer and Chief Executive Officer in technical due diligence with a clear, numbers-backed view of architecture, data, and artificial intelligence.
  • Communicate technical priorities and trade-offs transparently across the company.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience enabling non-engineering teams to build safely with artificial intelligence while balancing speed against quality and data integrity, and communicating that approach across a company.
  • Comfort working in a company where operations come first and software follows, turning manual services into products.
  • Experience with Salesforce as part of a larger system landscape.

About the company

Andercore is a Berlin-based AI-driven B2B industrial trade platform that buys from international suppliers and sells to local industrial buyers on its own account across infrastructure, energy and building materials. Its AI coordinates pricing, quoting, quality assurance, distribution and embedded financing across European markets. The platform acts as an intermediary on its own balance sheet, handling end-to-end procurement and logistics, and aims to expand geography and product categories while deepening its AI capabilities so suppliers can reach more buyers directly through the system. Compared with peers, Andercore emphasizes its own balance-sheet trading model, large-scale cross-border activity (thousands of transactions per month across seven European markets), and an integrated mix of sourcing, pricing, QA, distribution and financing. Its goal is to grow footprint and categories in Europe and enhance the AI platform to enable more direct supplier sales through the platform.

  • If direct supplier selling stalls, Andercore remains a trading intermediary with thin moat.

What makes Andercore unique

  • Andercore turns suppliers, logistics, QA, and financing into one AI-controlled trade stack.
  • It buys inventory itself, giving buyers firm quotes and prompt execution across Europe.
  • Its February 2026 Series B and July 2026 UniCredit facility fund expansion.

Continuing Our Partnership with Andercore as It Scales AI-Driven Industrial Trade. Industrial trade is one of the largest and most fundamental systems in the global economy — representing tens of trillions of dollars in annual wholesale activity — yet it remains heavily manual, fragmented, and inefficient. Pricing, sourcing, logistics, quality assurance, and financing are often disconnected, slow, and opaque.

Andercore is expanding its AI-based industrial trade platform following a $40M Series B raise

Andercore is expanding its ai-based industrial trade platform following a $40M Series B raise. With $40 million in new funding, Andercore plans to scale geographically, expand product categories, and advance its AI platform to enable more direct supplier participation. Berlin-based Andercore, an AI-enabled industrial supply trade platform, has raised $40 million in a Series B round comprising equity and debt to support its expansion in Europe. The round includes participation from existing investors Atomico and Project A, with Inven Capital joining as a new investor, alongside institutional financing from Commerzbank and KfW. The company has raised a total of $75 million to date. Andercore operates in global wholesale trade, which supports industrial supply chains across multiple sectors. Despite its size, the market is characterized by manual processes, fragmented workflows, relatively high transaction costs, and limited direct access for international suppliers. The company initially focused on industrial categories such as infrastructure, energy, and building materials. These categories serve as an entry point for a platform intended to expand across a broader range of industrial supply segments. Over the past five years, Andercore has developed an asset-light, cross-border trading model supported by a proprietary AI platform. The company purchases products from international suppliers and sells them to local buyers on its own account. Its technology supports pricing, quoting, quality assurance, distribution, and embedded financing. The platform currently supports thousands of transactions per month across seven European markets. Philipp Andernach, founder and CEO, said the company's core focus is using AI to support cross-border trade in physical goods: Our system brings prediction, discipline, and speed to supply chains that still rely on manual work. Buyers get faster quotes, better pricing, and frictionless execution across complex industrial categories. Suppliers gain a partner that drives consistent demand, expands their customer base, pays promptly, and handles operational complexity on their behalf. The new capital will be used to support geographic expansion, broader category coverage, and continued development of the company's AI platform. Over time, the platform is intended to enable suppliers to sell directly through the system, with the aim of integrating supply, demand, and financing within a single environment. Andercore continues to expand its operations in global industrial trade, with an initial focus on Europe.
