Requirements
- Must be certified to work at environmental, Installation Restoration Program (IRP) construction, and Hazardous Toxic and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) sites, with initial and annual Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certifications as appropriate.
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations.
- Comfort working with heavy equipment.
- Deep knowledge of transport and disposal procedures for safe handling of hazardous materials.
- Familiarity with Environmental Protection Agency standards.
- Extensive knowledge of data collection and analysis.
- Ability to prepare reports and correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, and status, as well as a customer-facing Statement of Work.
- A Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in chemistry or a chemistry-related field from an accredited college or university.
- At least three years of experience in an environmental laboratory setting, including at least one year of applied experience performing data usability assessment and review of laboratory methods.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe.
- Must be determined eligible for a Facility Access Authorization, also referred to as an Employment Authorization, by the U.S. Government's designated Security Office.
- Must be able to submit to and qualify for varying levels of background investigative requirements, up to Top Secret or DOE Q clearance.
- May be required to complete a Financial Disclosure Statement.
- Must be able to travel within the Continental United States, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean for meetings, conferences, and training.
- Personnel performing labor categories designated at moderate or low risk must be U.S. citizens or U.S. lawful permanent residents.
- The selected candidate may be required to obtain a Secret facility clearance from the Defense Security Service; contractor employees must have or be in a position to obtain security clearances from the Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office.
Responsibilities
- Perform environmental remediation services, environmental investigations related to remediation, water and wastewater services, industrial hygiene and safety support, environmental conservation, pollution prevention, and other support activities.
- Perform geotechnical investigations, including sampling and testing shallow, shallow subsurface, and deep subsurface soil for chemical and geotechnical parameters; sampling and testing rock or other solid matter, sediments, groundwater, and surface water; installing and developing monitoring wells as needed; determining aquifer parameters and monitoring groundwater elevations; and testing geotechnical material properties and classifying soil under the Unified Soil Classification System.
- Submit logs and other data using Bentley geotechnical and geo-environmental products compatible with GINT.
- Provide base sustainment, restoration, and modernization support for environmental compliance, evaluation, management, and remediation; vertical and horizontal construction inspections; quality assurance; and other sustainment, restoration, and modernization initiatives defined in individual task orders.
- Provide base support for environmental programs and initiatives that support operational functions and readiness.
- Perform office automation, customer interface, and technical support for environmental evaluation, compliance, remediation, and management.
- Maintain repositories and provide document and justification input for procurement actions.
- Assist with monitoring contract durations, maintaining databases, and providing input to enterprise databases tracking programs.
- Provide administrative support by assisting with the organization and maintenance of official filing systems and repositories.
- Gather data and enter it into databases.
- Provide technical support for project and document review.
- Prepare scopes of work, estimates, and statistical reports.
