Cable One lender seeks to block $480M Mega Broadband deal

A lender is seeking to block Cable One's planned acquisition of the 55% stake in Mega Broadband Investments Holdings LLC (MBI) that it does not already own, according to a Bloomberg report. The expected purchase price is $475 million to $495 million. MBI's net debt is expected to be $845 million to $895 million, bringing the deal's total value to about $1.3 billion. MBI operates as Vyve Broadband in the Southeast, Northwest, and Mid-South, serving about 210,000 customers. Its trailing 12-month revenue is about $310 million. Cable One announced the deal on January 5, 2026. It has moved the closing deadline from October 1 to October 9, 2026. Cable One draws $700M from revolving credit to bolster liquidity ahead of 2028 maturity

Cable One drew $700 million from its $1.25 billion revolving credit facility on 17 and 18 September 2026 to strengthen cash reserves and maintain financial flexibility. The US broadband provider tapped its 2023 credit agreement ahead of the facility's February 2028 maturity whilst keeping additional borrowing capacity in reserve. The company retained the option to repay part or all of the drawdown before maturity. Cable One provides internet, video, and voice services primarily to residential and business customers in smaller and mid-sized US markets. The move demonstrates the company's strategy to manage its balance sheet through its revolving credit line as it navigates ongoing subscriber and revenue challenges.
