Coreplan is a cloud-based SaaS platform for the mining and drilling sector that digitizes the drilling lifecycle—from planning and budgeting to execution and reporting—replacing paper and Excel-based work processes. The platform tracks costs in real time, monitors contractor performance, and provides analytics, with drill contractors using modules for digital plod management, client contracts, and automated invoicing; an offline-first mobile app supports field data capture and safety management. It differentiates itself by focusing on drilling workflows, offering multi-language and multi-currency support, integrations, and a product that serves both mining companies and drilling contractors. Its goal is to expand globally, including into the Americas and Africa, aided by recent funding to broaden capabilities and drive wider adoption in the mining industry.

What believers are saying

  • CorePlan raised AU$5 million on February 3, 2026, extending runway for expansion.
  • The company is hiring in Vancouver and Perth, signaling North American scaling.
  • CorePlan says over 45 million metres are drilled on its platform, proving workflow stickiness.

What critics are saying

  • BHP, Fortescue, and AngloGold can pressure pricing and demand custom features.
  • Hexagon Mining, Maptek, and GEOVIA Surpac already own adjacent mining software budgets.
  • CorePlan depends on drilling activity; a prolonged capex downturn cuts usage and renewals.

What makes CorePlan unique

  • CorePlan owns drilling workflows end-to-end, from plod capture to invoicing.
  • CorePlan 2.0 launched September 2024, rebuilding the platform on a modern framework.
  • CorePlan won GRX 2026 and claims 9,000 users across four continents.
