Requirements
  • Education – BS/BA degree in engineering, or science.
  • Experience – Six (6) years of directly applicable successful experience as a management consultant or senior manager interfacing and working with organizational executives and senior management, or senior technical or business individuals, within government or industry on significant management, technical, or business issues.
  • Demonstrate familiarity and relevant experience or ability to perform under Hanford or other government agency procedures.
  • Working level of knowledge with ORP’s oversight program requirements to include ORP’s corrective action management process.
  • Demonstrate familiarity and relevant experience or ability to perform oversight of DOE-ORP Orders/Standards such as facility operations, engineering, maintenance management of a nuclear facility.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Compliance with site specific safety and security requirements, including badging and office protocols.
  • Identification of any conflicts, potential conflicts, or perceived conflicts of interest with any Hanford Site Technical Oversight Specialists.

Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight of Technical Oversight Specialist system design review program.
  • Provide oversight of maintenance and work control processes.
  • Provide support to WTP Engineering Division.
  • Assist the Nuclear Services Division during DOE’s review and comment resolution of the Preliminary Documented Safety Analysis (PDSA) and Documented Safety Analysis (DSA) development and revisions performed by the Technical Oversight Specialist.
  • Coordinate system design reviews for the WTP High Level Waste (HLW) systems.
  • Assist HLW Federal Project Director in the assessment of alternative tank waste treatment approaches (including Direct Feed HLW configuration).
  • Assist the Hanford Interface Management Team with Interface Control Document (ICD).
  • Coordinate to issue assessment and resolution with ORP engineering, regulatory, and other supporting staff.
  • Participate in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), WTP High Level Waste (HLW) assessment progress and Direct Feed High Level Waste (DFHLW) configurations.
  • Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria.
  • Submit a weekly report to the technical monitor addressing work accomplished, and deliverable progress.
Desired Qualifications
  • The Technical Oversight Specialist shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years
  • Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position

  • May be required to complete a Financial Disclosure Statement
  • Must be able to submit to and qualify for varying levels of background investigative requirements, up to a Top Secret or DOE "Q" clearance.
  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements.
  • Location: Work shall be conducted at or in proximity to The Hanford Eastern Washington Area.
  • Telework eligibility: This position is telework eligible at the discretion of the Technical Monitor (TM) in consultation with the Contracting Officer (CO).
