Requirements
  • Six or more years of work experience in automotive technical repair and diagnostics.
  • Three or more years of work experience training OEM dealership technicians.
  • Knowledge and experience with electric vehicle technology is a plus.
  • Ability to read, interpret and explain mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Experience preparing classrooms, workshops, and vehicles for learning.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (OneDrive, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is a plus.
  • Travel requirements: Must be able to travel and train at additional locations as required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Education: Must be fluent in English; additional foreign languages are a plus.
  • Tech School, Automotive Certificate, Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Professional Certification (OEM Master Technician or ASE Master technician).
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate training workshops for dealership apprentice technicians, with the goal of obtaining their initial OEM certification.
  • Prepare workshops and vehicles for experiential learning.
  • Verify learners’ understanding of the subject matter using competency-based training.
  • Identify additional training needs based on learners’ feedback and assessment of skills.
  • Ensure Regional Training Facility, tools, student guides, literature, vehicles, and training center are properly maintained.
  • Maintain attendee training records in learning portal.
  • Collaborate regularly with Corporate, Regional, and Dealership team members to accomplish Corporate, Regional, and training department goals.
  • Perform light to medium lifting requirements in repair shop operation management.
  • Assist Corporate Training staff in the development of technical training curriculum as required.
  • Continually enhance technical instructional facilitation skills, technical knowledge of vehicle systems, and diagnostic technology.
  • Comply with health and safety standards and maintain a safe work environment in the Training Center.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness and follow published 5S standards.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with customers and supplier personnel.
  • Maintain and use equipment in the workshop to operational standard.
  • Take reasonable precautions to protect company vehicles.
