Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver rigorous, inquiry-based art lessons that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in young women.
  • Develop cohesive unit and lesson plans aligned with Girls Global Academy's curriculum standards, emphasizing art literacy and global awareness.
  • Use student performance data to inform and differentiate instruction so that all students are appropriately challenged and supported.
  • Design and implement formative and summative assessments to measure student understanding and mastery of key art concepts.
  • Integrate interdisciplinary connections between art and other subject areas, highlighting the relevance of art principles to real-world issues and students' local and global contexts.
  • Encourage hands-on experimentation and project-based learning experiences that promote collaboration, leadership, and confidence among female students in art fields.
  • Incorporate culturally responsive teaching practices that affirm diverse perspectives and experiences in learning art.
  • Use a wide range of technologies and strategies to differentiate instruction based on readiness, learning differences, and interests.
  • Use student data to drive instructional decisions.
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary curriculum planning and development.
  • Foster positive relationships with students.
  • Develop regular communication protocols with parents.
  • Deliver thoughtful guidance and support to advisory groups.
  • Engage professionally with new school initiatives.
  • Keep up-to-date records of attendance, curriculum, and assessment.
  • Develop and implement assessments aligned with Girls Global Academy curriculum standards.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly professional development programs.
  • Create classroom experiences embodying the pillars of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and safety, including establishing strong relationships with students.
  • Foster engaging lessons and activities that deliver content in ways that enable students to learn.
  • Use resources to differentiate instruction for all types of learners through co-teaching with special education teachers and providing students with additional resources.
  • Submit weekly lesson plans for review by the Academic Program Coordinator and incorporate feedback.
  • Facilitate advisory sessions, grade assignments, and maintain communication with advisees' caregivers.
  • Support school culture in hallways and at lunch, including assigned arrival, dismissal, and hallway duties.
  • Maintain communication with caregivers through grading, telephone calls, emails, and twice-annual Student-Led Conferences.
  • Maintain at least two grades each week, two summative assessments per quarter, and end-of-quarter comments.
