About the Company

Magnet Defense

Develops AI-powered autonomous USVs for defense

Magnet Defense builds AI-powered unmanned surface vessels (USVs) for national security missions like fleet operations, missile defense, and maritime intelligence. Its first platform, the M48, uses edge processing, multi-sensor fusion, and onboard machine learning to recognize threats and carry modular payloads that can be reconfigured for different missions while keeping an operator in the loop. The company differentiates itself by vertically integrating production through the acquisition of Metal Shark, enabling large-scale manufacturing and rapid mission payload changes. Its goal is to supply the U.S. and allied militaries with scalable autonomous maritime capability and become a key supplier for programs such as the U.S. Golden Fleet.
