Requirements
  • At least 7 years of hands-on graphic design experience at an advertising agency, digital agency, studio, or in-house team, focused on marketing or advertising creative and growth-oriented campaigns.
  • A portfolio demonstrating sharp execution and conceptual thinking across social, digital display, email, in-app, app store, and print, including how design choices clarify complex ideas and drive performance across the funnel.
  • Deep proficiency in visual design principles including typography, layout, balance, hierarchy, proportion, color, emphasis, and unity, with a refined aesthetic from concept through production.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, including building and maintaining components, styles, libraries, and design systems used across a marketing organization.
  • Expertise creating, implementing, and maintaining design-system component libraries and style guides, ensuring pixel-perfect execution and applying system thinking with a focus on practical implementation.
  • Proficiency in motion graphics and animation, including hands-on experience with After Effects and other motion tools.
  • Experience partnering with developers and product teams to ship high-quality digital experiences.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute conceptual, visually compelling marketing campaigns for the Games product across the reader and subscriber journey.
  • Design and adapt campaign creative across paid, owned, and earned channels, including digital, social, email, in-app placements, app stores, and out-of-home.
  • Translate in-product experiences, editorial formats, and feature benefits into marketing assets that deepen engagement and drive habitual use of the Games product.
  • Create, implement, and maintain component libraries and style guides in Figma, applying design systems for Games marketing and ensuring pixel-perfect execution across platforms and devices.
  • Collaborate with writers, art directors, audio and video partners to concept, refine, and ship creative that communicates product value and drives subscriptions and engagement.
  • Develop and maintain scalable visual systems, templates, and libraries that enable experimentation across paid and owned marketing channels while maintaining craft and brand consistency.
  • Work from creative briefs, participate in reviews, and incorporate stakeholder feedback as strategy or approach evolves.
  • Create presentation materials and explain design decisions in relation to performance, user behavior, and marketing strategy.
  • Contribute ideas and experimentation to marketing journalism, product experiences, and bundles.
Desired Qualifications
  • A B.A., B.F.A., or M.F.A. in graphic design, visual communication, or another related design discipline, or equivalent professional experience and portfolio demonstrating comparable design training and craft.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with marketing strategy, media, product design, audience insights, and brand identity partners.
  • Understanding of digital advertising and growth-marketing trends, and familiarity with the social media ecosystem and authentic brand presence.
