Requirements
  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Graduate of the U.S. Army Special Forces Officer Qualification Course (18A) or Warrant Officer 180A qualification.
  • Graduate of Senior Service College or Warrant Officer Senior Service Education.
  • Extensive Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience.
  • Former Battalion Commander, Chief Warrant Officer at the Special Forces Group level or higher, or equivalent senior SOF leadership position.
  • Experience serving as a primary staff officer at the Special Operations Joint Task Force (SOJTF) level or higher.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the scheduling, design, planning, coordination, execution, and assessment of Mission Readiness and Mission Command Exercises for O5-O6 headquarters staffs.
  • Develop realistic and challenging exercise scenarios that support mission command training objectives and operational readiness requirements.
  • Synchronize exercise planning efforts across multiple organizations, stakeholders, and support personnel.
  • Direct exercise development activities, including concept development, training objectives, master scenario event lists (MSEL), and after-action review processes.
  • Provide senior-level guidance on mission command doctrine, operational planning, and SOF headquarters operations.
  • Coordinate resources, personnel, facilities, and training support necessary for successful exercise execution.
  • Oversee exercise-control functions and ensure adherence to approved timelines, standards, and performance objectives.
  • Evaluate headquarters staff performance and provide recommendations for improving mission readiness and operational effectiveness.
  • Prepare exercise-related reports, briefings, lessons learned, and after-action documentation for government leadership.
  • Manage exercise-development resources and support personnel to ensure efficient and effective exercise execution.

  • Demonstrated expertise in exercise design, development, and execution for operational-level headquarters.
  • Experience managing exercise-development resources, personnel, and support teams.
  • Strong understanding of mission command principles, operational planning, and military decision-making processes.
  • Experience supporting Joint, Combined, Interagency, or Special Operations training exercises.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication, and briefing skills.
