Requirements
  • The candidate must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • The candidate must hold an unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Georgia.
  • The candidate must hold American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • The candidate must have at least two years of full-time experience as a registered professional nurse.
  • The candidate must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, an Associate Degree in Nursing, or a Diploma in Nursing, as stated for Staff Registered Professional Nurse III.
Responsibilities
  • Independently plan and provide professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders, established guidelines, the Georgia Nurse Practice Act, and professional nursing standards.
  • Manage care for an assigned group of patients in accordance with the nursing division's philosophy, policies, and collaborative care model.
  • Assess patients, establish diagnoses and expected outcomes, plan and implement care, and evaluate results.
  • Document care using clinical information systems and use patient-care technology.
  • Practice professional communication, culturally congruent care, ethics, professional practice evaluation, and resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, care teams, communities, and other professionals.
  • Participate in community involvement, environmental health, and clinical leadership.
  • Pursue professional development through education, knowledge expansion, advancement of practice, and contribution to the clinical specialty.
  • Apply evidence-based practice and participate in nursing research, quality improvement, patient satisfaction measurement, and external reporting or benchmarking.
  • Work rotating weekends and the stated 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. schedule.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year of experience as a registered professional nurse in Family Centered Care, a Maternal Infant Unit, or a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
  • An additional life-support credential such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification, or another clinical specialty certification.
  • Visual color acuity, depending on the specific unit role.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
