Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or an equivalent ABET-accredited engineering program is required.
  • An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) professional designation is required.
  • At least 4 years of US-based experience in highway and roadway civil design engineering for federal and state projects is required.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state roadway regulations and processes is required.
  • Proficiency with engineering design software such as AutoCAD and Bentley is required.
  • A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record are required for periodic travel.
Responsibilities
  • Work with clients to understand their vision and project scope.
  • Analyze survey data, traffic patterns, and other relevant data to optimize road design and ensure functionality and safety.
  • Develop detailed plans for new roads, highways, and related infrastructure.
  • Use engineering design software to draft plans, drawings, and models.
  • Improve existing road infrastructure to ensure its continued safety and efficiency.
  • Ensure engineering designs comply with relevant Department of Transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Draft technical writing, including requests for proposals, reports, project specifications, and memorandums.
  • Provide construction administration services during the construction phase of projects.
  • Plan and design road and highway transportation infrastructure, with a primary focus on county roadways, federal highways, high-speed multi-lane systems, and bridges.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred, or the candidate must be willing to obtain one after hire.
  • Project engineering experience is desired.
