Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree.
  • At least 1-3 years of previous coaching experience.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination and training in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations, maintained throughout employment.
  • Current certification in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and automatic external defibrillator use, maintained throughout employment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Compliance with all National Collegiate Athletic Association, New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference, and Babson College rules.
  • Commitment to working with a diverse student body, staff, and other constituents.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends, and to travel in person and stay overnight for regular and postseason games, recruiting, conferences, and tournaments.
  • A valid unrestricted U.S. driver's license held for one year, maintained throughout employment, an insurable or satisfactory driving record, successful completion of the College's vehicle training program within the first 60 days, and required driving-record and safety reviews.
  • Campus Security Authority responsibilities under the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act, including forwarding reports in accordance with the College's reporting structure.
Responsibilities
  • Receive direction from the head coach regarding the aspects of program management and direction that the position will assist with.
  • Assist in planning and coaching practice sessions and games as directed by the head coach; teach advanced-level skills and game strategies.
  • Perform sport-specific responsibilities, including specialized skills training, documenting and maintaining records, analyzing data, and reporting findings.
  • Counsel students on general and sport-related matters.
  • Assist the head coach in scouting opponents and preparing, planning, conducting, and evaluating practice sessions.
  • Assist with recruiting student-athletes by contacting high school and preparatory school coaches, planning recruiting trips, attending off-campus games to evaluate athletes, and preparing and distributing recruiting information.
  • Review and cut film, share film with the head coach and athletes, and make recommendations based on film review.
  • Complete assigned institutional and NCAA training.
  • Supervise and work with student workers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous college playing and coaching experience.
  • Experience with game-film software or online programs such as Synergy and Hudl, and roster-management software such as ARMS.
